  • Whenever humans aglomerate, non productive humans require handouts to live. If they do not receive then they die. If they donโ€™t want to die, they will steal.

    Yeah, we know, politicians.

  • Slavery is the ownership of a person as property, especially in regards to their labor.

Having 100% exclusive rights over the fruits of a person's labor, so, a job.

Slavery typically involves compulsory work with the slave's location of work and residence dictated by the party that holds them in bondage.

    Ever applied for a mortgage?

  • So uhh, anyone building pyramids today?

  • I had bad luck and ended up with a Pixel 2 that was carrier unlocked, appeared to have an unlocked bootloader but was some special Verizon version that did not allow flashing. Fuck you, Verizon.

  • I wish the "Dark Web" hadn't turned into shit show, Just looking into it now gets you onto some fuckin watch list but it would have been a perfectly viable place to set up a proper censorship-free web. It also takes care of the user-quality issue by being slightly harder to use than a button that says "INSTALL APP NOW!"

  • Damnit, I'm boring af. Machines are named by their model for laptops/consumer devices and buy their CPU for home built stuff.

    Except for Crimson-Binome.local ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ

  • I am quite preachy about it and am universally met with "but why does it matter?" The future is gonna suck.

  • Docker is awesome for real production environments but trains home users to just copy/paste/enter random shit from the internet.

  • I bet youโ€™re the type to follow the docker install instructions*, arent you?

Thank you, I think the Cult of Docker does more harm than good for the selfhosting community in the long run as it encourages copy/paste admins. Manually installing services in LXC gives you all the advantages of Docker plus the full control of a VM or bare metal install.

  • WTF, am I the only person to have bought W10? Steam on Linux is just good enough now that my next gaming build will be Debian (or some derivative).

  • If it takes the threat of starving-to-death to get good service out of some one then something is fundamentally wrong.

  • If there were 2lb spiders that taste like lobster roaming around on land I would sure as fuck be out in the woods with a net every weekend.

  • Having just jumped over I might be bottom of the priority list for company communications.

  • I might do so as well to avoid the next decade of shopping around.

  • I know there are other factors it just feels like the only people getting screwed are the little guys. In Canada the rates that third party ISPs pay and charge are dictated by the giant telcos. Our regulating body even allowed the telcos to raise prices to the point where reselling is no longer viable. Fucking the little guys again.

  • Nope, no other nerve issues that I know of.

  • I'm on month 2 of an eye twitch. Last time it was 4 months in my arm and before that 4 months in my other eye.
