  • Please, how many non-Korean politicians are in their congress? Korea is also so ethnically homogeneous, so it’s not even fair to ask that question. I care about civil rights and liberties of minorities, my problem is that America is constantly getting fucked by one type of propaganda or another because it has an actual democracy (in at least the blue and purple states).

Yes, some American southern states actually do systemic racism type things, that’s undeniable if you objectively look at their policies. America, however, is not a monolith.

  • Exactly, socialism is necessary for balancing out some of the adverse effects of capitalism. The Nordic model is a sensible approach to socialism. The Marxists will have you believe that it’s better to die by their guns than by the guns of right-leaning fascists.

  • Actually, I do know, I’ve read enough about Stalinism and Leninism. It’s not a huge leap, then, to connect the equity philosophy to enable redistribution of wealth and resources to the Global south, especially as it relates to Climate justice.

Authoritarianism is still fucked whether the people oppressing you are left or right.

  • Tbh I thought the same at first, but it’s because it’s distilling so much underlying philosophy to its most apparent application.

In other words, the designers and adherents of critical theory admitted their true intent. Not equality under the law. Not civil rights. Not freedom, liberty and justice for all. Not a better life for racial minorities. Critical theorists admit their intent is to use racial minorities as the vanguard for a Marxist revolution.

  • Trying to tell if someone is a patriot based on their race or sexual / gender orientation is fucked. There are and have been many straight, cis, white traitors of the U.S. government. It’s just insane and unreasonable to expect that just because someone is white or cis or male then they’re safe or want the best for their country. Truly magical thinking devoid from reality and facts.

  • lol how? Anti-immigration is not inherently racism. All countries have some sort of immigration control.

Edit forget it, i don’t want to want to seem oblivious to the obvious human rights issues here. People deserve legal recourse to immigration, enough said.

  • The anti-trans angle doesn’t make sense, especially when all these people want to do is serve

  • Deportations have happened under other presidents as well, so from what I can tell this is all being covered in great detail as part of some media campaign.

The anti-DEI motivation seems thoughtless at first, but then when you look at it really it seems the politicians don’t like the CRT and Neo-Marxist ideology associated with DEI. Makes sense, America has never been about Marxism or Communism.

    https://newdiscourses.com/2023/04/marxist-roots-of-dei-workshop-all-sessions/

I mean, people should have some resource for legal immigration, but a nation is allowed sovereign control over their immigration policies.

So, the whole reaction on the left seems a tad alarmist maybe, but as others have said keep paying attn but don’t let it consume your life or senses.

Edit meant to use a different term

  • It seems a little unnecessary to spin words to be correct, you can just say you read it wrong or don’t respond 🤷‍♀️

Besides that, it’s okay. I know my anti-Marxist pov will always attract downvotes. I want to challenge the premise that a Marxist world is socially just or morally or ethically superior. I don’t want to troll or cause grief.

  • Dude you read what I wrote wrong, or you didn’t get the context, it’s okay to say that instead of whatever verbal gymnastics you’re saying now. Grow up lol

  • The climate justice aspects of DEI are philosophically meant to normalize “anti-Imperialism”.

    https://lawliberty.org/the-philosophy-underlying-dei/

Meanwhile there’s nothing anti- imperialist about something like Marxism or Stalinism, the only difference is you’re ruled either by a single tyrant or a committee of tyrants.

Edit I’ll just say this though, the sad thing to me is that so much of LGBT rights is wrapped up in postmodern ideology, but LGBT rights speak to fundamental aspects of being a person. LGBT rights don’t need postmodern ideology to validate those rights.

  • Can I ask a real question here? We know from being here on Lemmy that some people have a real hard-on for Marxism/Stalinism/Leninism. Why do these people think their pov is morally or ethically superior?

The whole DEI stuff seems a bit like a Trojan horse to sneak in Marxist propaganda. Forcing people to accept immigrants with different cultural pov in a democracy is dangerous because you can end up relinquishing your country to another country’s agenda.

Should people be more humane and considerate? Yes, fucking definitely. Should there be more regulations against some damaging effects of capitalism? Certainly.

Does that mean people want to give up the means of production? Absolutely not. Does that mean people want to live in a China-like situation where you cannot own the land your property is on? No.

Countries should be free to control immigration. That’s what sovereignty is. But the truth is simply this, all countries need immigrants, the natural competition created via the current state of capitalism demands this.

  • Tbf I just think it’s not up to me to redeem something by adding more flavor to it. Either it brings something to the table itself or it can just go (to the trash can)

  • Nah, there’s nothing feminine about being “weak and pathetic, and needing to rely on a real man for everything”.

To keep it simple and pithy, my notion of femininity is Storm from X-Men. Be a force of nature, nurturing but to be reckoned with if and when provoked.
