  • For me the remote deployment and ssh interpreter are very useful. I develop on a Mac and deploy on Linux servers. Sometimes there's a scenario where a library works on Linux but has trouble working on Mac. Rather than spend time working on getting it work on Mac, I just remotely deploy it to a tmp directory on a Linux server and setup an ssh interpreter on the server, and continue developing on the Mac. Very useful for me.

  • I mean, eventually? If lemmy keeps getting more robust and people keep creating quality content, then eventually lemmy would get mainstream. 8-10 years ago I was very surprised when I saw reddit on the news for a rare moment. Reddit is too mainstream now. Hope lemmy never gets to that stage.

  • I started to get better 5 years ago. These days it's at least 60-70% where Windows is with respect to gaming. According to protondb.com, 78% of the top 100 steam games (and 75% of the top 1000) are directly playable on linux with no or very little tweaking required.

  • No doubt. I'm not saying anything in support of the guys who capitalized on the laptop. I'm just talking about how you can even forget you dropped off a laptop for service. May be its because I don't have the fuck you money he probably has, but it's mind boggling to me.
