  • It's running windows 10. The software code project ai supports gpus with cuda support, which I assume are Nvidia cards. I'm using it currently only for blue iris to monitor my security cameras. Blue iris uses code project ai for object detections like human, animals, etc. It has been running okay for a couple of years without GPU, but I think adding a GPU would definitely improve performance and speed.

  • When I got a MacBook from work, I went and bought a webcam as well, and chose a 'just adequate ' 720p webcam that served the purpose without showing every pore on my face in super high resolution. It was just adequate, and I was very happy.

  • Screw Walmart. During the storms here in NC, I went there to buy some relief supplies, and it was awesome to see the whole store getting picked apart by people buying supplies to donate. What was definitely not awesome was the only 3 checkout lanes open out of the total 12, because Walmart has a 3 per employee rule and they don't want to assign enough workers for the checkout lanes, even during times of crisis like this.

  • I think this is how it should be. Moderators fact checking inevitably leads to accusations of being biased to one party, since anything and everything can be fact checked. Unless you keep tally and do an exact number of fact checks for both sides, it's futile to fact check. Let the opponent do that. They should have prepared for all the lies they know their opponents would peddle.
