  • The specifics of this article aside, I am so not looking forward to the continued proliferation of AI based bullshit on the internet/public discourse/the media/etc. It’s gonna get so so much worse, we’re just scratching the surface right now. The validity of any photo or video will be destroyed and nothing will be trustworthy anymore. This is great news for fascists who thrive in a world where the truth is unknowable and meaningless.

  • I didn’t say either was good/better/whatever. Regardless of who’s doing it, if the news forums here just start posting full text articles like crazy, eventually the instance will get smacked down for it.

  • Posting a shit ton of full text news articles is gonna get the instance DCMA’d

  • Yeah I thought that was a pretty obvious attempt to ease people into it. So this news doesn't come as a shock. If anything I'm surprised it took this long.

  • Erythritol is tolerated by people at pretty varying rates. Some people have no issues, others have stomach problems. It doesn’t really bother me much.

I personally like allulose the best tho, but it’s not easy to get in the EU yet.

  • Yeah the muscle analogy is what I always use and it’s so true.

  • Yeah unfortunately not quite what I'm looking for, but cool to see they're there

  • I hope they get absolutely railed by lawsuits

  • I just hope the platform will expand into more niche content over time. The big topics seem to be news, politics, and some specific tech subjects. Would love to see arts/crafts/hobby related stuff take hold here as well.

That said, I do think a lot of the discussion happening here is pretty high quality and the place does seem to be improving over time. Time will tell. Hopefully more people wake up to the fact that reddit is not gonna hold up on the long term. I expect them to go IPO crazy this coming year and I don't think a lot of the core users are going to like it.

  • Yep, my buddy’s wife just had her Kia stolen, joy ridden, and ruined by kids who learned how to do it on TikTok

  • Captain big brain over here with the very smart username

  • 100%. I usually post the gif of that but I was on my phone at the time

  • Whole lot of overthinking potatoes in this thread

  • Yeah the salaries in Europe do not jive at all with the housing prices in major metros. At least in the US a STEM job is probably gonna pay north of 6 figures if you’re in a decent metro area. I live in the EU now and if I switched from freelancing for American clients to working a full time job here I would be taking a major pay cut to do it. The pay is god awful but rent is fairly comparable to where I used to live on the US west coast.

  • I'm honestly totally ignorant to whether they can be grown indoors at scale outside of their normal growing region, but that's a good point to bring up.
