Great article on a terrible event, thank you for sharing. So sad for his family and the families of all the other victims. And even more sad for the poc who are being actively victimized every day. Wishing them and all of us some peace and joy in this life. Acab.

What must it be like? To be so immensely mediocre, and think you are ordained by a deity? I imagine it's actually a lot scarier than they lead on. And that's why they freak out about literally nothing. They have no idea what the fuck is going on around them, but they are just aware enough to know those around them expect them to lead. They are dumb animals acting out of pure flight instincts, but they're privileged enough that the systems around them won't let them fail. It's hilarious and maddening.

I agree with this entirely, but I think the missing context is the mental health of our admins. Not to mention the sheer number of hours of unpaid labor they do, they are subjected to some heinous things. I don't want them to sacrifice themselves for us. I will follow beehaw if they leave, I already have another lemmy account to see a wider scope of the fediverse, but beehaw is too special to abandon.

Absolutely. It's all so calculated, that there is suddenly a surge in popularity for a woman candidate. They can espouse all of their typical anti-social policies all while hiding behind claims of modernity. The murdochs are savvy, even if she ends up the vp on trump's ticket, she is something they can always point to as a reason that republicans aren't archaic monsters. And their voters will believe it and use it as their own shield.

I'm comforted that cursing the name of that sneaky ea-nasir is still on the table.
