  • it’s likely that inter-generational disadvantage played a role in her life. Not an excuse for killing an old guy due to negligence in my opinion though.

Thank you for bringing some nuance to this discussion. She's guilty, that much is true. Now, do people here want justice/revenge? or do they want rehabilition?

  • Oh she is making progress in her “don’t be racist” classes?

Fagan is indigenous. They aren't classes teaching how not to be being racist, they're rehabilitation classes specifically for aboriginal people.

  • As for remote access, I have a separate machine running alpine with wireguard in a docker container, I VPN into that machine to get access to other devices in the network

This is smart, I should do that. I just run Tailscale on my NAS, but I do sometimes worry about it

  • Watch new/untested content on debrid. Hoard content you love (physical or digital).

  • I see you live in an apartment

I don’t live in an apartment, and I’m not sure the relevance of that to your advice. But it’s good advice, nonetheless thanks

  • In Australia we have what’s called a pie floater, which is a meat pit sitting in a bowl of pea soup. Sounds bad, tastes rad.

  • Yeah I can’t defend the decision but I have zero regrets.

  • I’m Australian so I reserve the right to abbrevio

  • This is my secret fried chicken dredge and extra hot nashville style coating. Kirkland brand cheddar cheese, fat bread and butter pickles, home made comeback sauce and zesty red cabbage slaw. On a potato roll.

  • so samwise gamgee IS the most powerful being

  • I use premiumize instead of rd because they also scrape Usenet and Ddl links. little bit more expensive but has been worth it imo

  • I for one am grateful that when we make earth uninhabitable for ourselves that ants will become the dominant species. they're so fucking cool.

  • This is what’s stopping me from using another launcher on my chromecast. I get the disdain for ads in the community, but it absolutely has its uses. Browsing is a huge part of consuming content. This is why I use stremio over some of the more attractive options because they at least have what’s popular, even if it’s not as heavily curated as the streaming services.

  • Another +1 for stremio and torrentio. Their popular lists don’t update as frequently as I’d hope, but all other debrid solutions require either a learning curve or a bunch of automation. Stremio just works.

  • using a VPN is always a good habbit to be in, whether you need it or not

  • consumer-grade field recorders can now capture in 32-bit float (I used Zoom F2s and have a Zoom F6), which reduces/removes our need to set levels beforehand or during. It effectively just has a ridiculous dynamic range.

I guess the technology has just recently made its way onto the scene for these sorts of products.

  • I don’t want to keep harping on about AI, but seriously. AI. I work in the creative sphere, and Adobe are (finally) earning their subscriptions. Lightroom’s new denoise DNG tool is massively impressive and not all that resource heavy. Photoshops generative fill solves so many problems with photo manipulation, my team is saving hours a week. On the video production side, crumplePop’s suite of audio correction tools is a game changer, and davinci resolves 18.5 beta has so much that we haven’t explored but I’m excited by.

Also, 32-bit float. Holy shit. It’s like recording audio in RAW. I no longer need to consider resourcing for audio production on smaller jobs.
