  • You can create an account on a Piped instance and use it to log in to LibreTube. That way, you can sync your subscriptions and playlists. The only thing you can't do is comment.

  • They are innovative, they always find new methods to get more and more money from their customers

  • That's not open source, it's source-available

  • You know that this is a piracy community, right?

  • GitLab is mean for large enterprise environments. It's overkill for most users. Gogs/Gitea/Forgejo focus on simplicity. These are also pretty easy to self-host.

  • Don't use Brave, LibreWolf is far better and unlike Brave it doesn't support the Chromium monopoly

  • +1 for DNS level ad/tracker blocking. Everyone should check out NextDNS or self host Pi-Hole.

You should still use Firefox or LibreWolf though. Mull is awesome on mobile, it's the closest thing to LibreWolf.

For YouTube, you can use alternative clients like Piped or Invidious in combination with LibRedirect to automatically redirect all YouTube links. On mobile, I recommend LibreTube for Android, Yattee with this guide on iOS and SmartTubeNext on Android TV.

  • I'm doing the same right now, but the next TV I buy will be a commercial-grade Large Format Display

  • Large Format Displays like those made by NEC are my secret tip, they usually don't have any "smart" garbage, they're great for wall-mounting and you can even get them with an anti-reflective coating

  • Yeah just never connect these pieces of shit to the internet or even remove the wireless module if possible

  • These crazy invasive spyware networks like Amazon Sidewalk should definitely be illegal

  • 2023, the year of Big Tech companies restricting their users in every single possible way. But why is 2023 not the year of users finally waking up and switching away from this proprietary garbage?
