  • I just try to actively contribute. Especially when I’m debating whether I want to or not.

I don’t really enjoy posting or taking pictures, but I’ve been to around 11 countries and have slowly been uploading to Pixelfed just to contribute to the community.

  • No, I have business expenses that need to be calculated. The service I used in the past changed their layout and I could not find where to enter business expenses and they never responded to my request for help.

So, I started over and eventually found where to enter the expenses, but I was not sure I was doing it right and then the site said I was reporting a loss for the year, which was not correct, so I just gave up.

There just needs to be a "How much were your business expenses and how much did you earn?

  • I agree with you.

For my personal stuff, I am on Linux 100%.

I tried for a long time to put privacy first and Linux first everywhere. At some point, I realized that I am making my work so much more difficult using all these work arounds.

I am still waiting on a few things to come to Linux, once they do, I can try again. But I will keep using what works best for my work as earning a living needs to come first.

  • The last I looked was that the Pixel was the only phone that allowed you to load a custom rom and relock the bootloader. Other phones kept the bootloader unlocked once it was modded.

So, graphene could be put on those phones if the devs wanted to do it, but it would be less secure since the bootloader would remain unlocked.

Also, supporting a small line a phones is probably infinitely easier than a range, of devices, but it would be nice to have another option. Especially now that the Fairphone pice is reasonable.

  • I did. Crypto was never user friendly for the average person to use and the way the US gov requires you to report each transaction on your taxes makes it more trouble than it is worth.

AI on the other hand is extremely user friendly and genuinely is of use to the people I know who use it.

  • I think ip laws are important but need to be changed. One example are things that are funded by tax dollars. They can’t own the ip of something we funded even if partially funded. Maybe let them hold the ip until they recoup their cost.

I also think that it is OK for companies to have ip, but it needs to be shorter. Like, they get 10 years or they earn 10x their cost on developing it.

Im not saying my exact ideas are perfect, but just an example of how ip should not last for as long as it does.
