  • It’s not just this app, it happens to me all the time with different apps.

It happens in email, mastodon, etc.

It’s just that touch screens can be imprecise and sometimes downvotes are just people operating their phones without realizing it.

  • Sometimes I try to swipe left and accidentally upvote and downvote posts.

Other times I’m holding my phone without locking it and accidentally click things.

I’m guessing this happens to other people too.

  • That’s strange, if it’s consistently saying that.

Does it do the same thing whether you are in WiFi or cellular data?

You can check the dns settings to make sure they are set to automatic or manually set them to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

    Those are Google dns servers.

If neither option work, I’d be concerned that your data is being funneled through a vpn without your knowledge.

You might be able to check that by searching “what is my ip address” and use whatever website shows it. Write down what you see and then do it on the cellular connection. The ip address should be different.

If it is the same on both, then you might have your data going through a vpn located in Miami.

Please feel free to message me directly about either of these things.

  • Oh yeah! Reddit does that? But I just login with a throwaway account.

Sometimes after logging in, it will say there was a problem or just reload the login page.

If that happens just click login again and it will load normally.
