  • On private trackers, it's because # of uploads is one of the things that gives you a better user class. There's other benefits too.

  • I definitely understand that.

    I personally gave in because it made file uploading easy as well as the fact that thelounge also acts as a bouncer, keeping me online 24/7 even when my browser isn't up.

    Also, it's not discord. :o

  • 1000 each to jellyfin, OBSProject, Linux Mint, Calibre, and Krita

  • Their installer automatically just has the proprietary drivers, which is really helpful for newer users.

  • im not the one who came onto a linux community to talk about how microsoft is better

  • Ext4 is generally faster than NTFS, but cannot handle as large of files

    Going to be honest with you, this has not been my experience.

    And you can imagine whatever you want, but that doesn't make it reality.

  • NTFS is genuinely inferior in many respects, especially on hard drives, Mister Blue Tribe.

  • You don't host it like mastodon would AFAIK, nor do I agree with so called standard practice.

  • i couldn't figure out where the binaries for their systems are kept and that's really the one thing keeping me from having a great time with distrobox

  • then why even federate at all? someone else could post CSAM at any time

  • Arch has the newest software, whereas most of Linux Mint's software is usually a few years out of date except for security patches.

    Arch is also a lot more "DIY" compared to Linux Mint's "It Just Works"
