  • Not only are you rude, but you are the one who isn't understanding.

Nobody is "outsourcing security". You have failed to comprehend the situation and instead of accepting your own ignorance you've turned around and been an ass to the person who tried to answer your question

    Do better

  • .... But there would only ever be one case in the first place? Because once FOX won it applied to everyone else too? There was never a need for additional cases, they all benefited.

Seriously, go watch CNN from a year before that case, and then from a year after it. They and everyone else took the ball and ran with it, never looking back.

And of course they did, they're corporations. They're in the business of making money, not improving the world. Why would they hamstring themselves by playing by a different set of rules than the competition?

  • You misunderstood (as did everyone else it seems). I meant to say the OP had no need to editorialize because it was already editorialized; it was in response to the previous comment which said they assumed it WAS editorialized. I was saying "op didn't editorialize, because they didn't need to, because it was already editorialized"

  • AP and Reuters are the only real news agencies left (with PBS getting close but still editorializing too often).

Everything else is entertainment media, and they've even gone to court to prove it themselves

EDIT: look at all the tankies and extremists downvoting the truth. Opinions aren't news. Editorials aren't news. I like watching Rachel Maddow and Jon Stewart as much as the next progressive, but they're entertainment, not news, and it's a major failure if you can't recognize that

  • EDIT: Looks like this judgement was lifted yesterday. TIL

~~No, he can't walk into any bank, because he is literally barred from taking any loans from banks in New York. That was part of a previous judgement. And since many of the biggest American financial institutions operate out of NYC, he's pretty fucked in that regard.

He would have to rely on wealthy friends (who are extremely wary of his situation) or foreign banks that will offer him incredibly predatory conditions since they know he has no choice but to accept~~

  • Oh hey, I recognize you. Genuinely and truly, thank you for your years of service. I run a mastodon community these days for the same reasons, and I can only imagine how frustrating and eventually heartbreaking it must have been for long-time reddit mods to slowly get screwed out of the homes they'd built for themselves and others.

  • CONSTANT maintenance, and regularly weekly scheduled cleaning of each room (living room on Monday, kitchen on Tuesday, etc)

It is SO much easier to clean for 20 minutes aggregate each day than it is to clean for an hour every few days. And you're less likely to push it off when it's one simple task at a time instead of a whole house of cleaning.

Start out with one GIANT clean. Like, big-time, deep scrub, pay a cleaning service if you have to

Forever after that, do not let even the smallest mess survive long enough for another mess to be created

Dirty dishes? DIRECTLY into the dishwasher, turn it on as soon as it hits 3/4ths full so you're not playing dishwasher Tetris while extra dishes spill over into the sink

Kids' toys and grossness starting to build up in one room? Time for a family tag-team cleaning event! Put on the song you've decide is "the cleaning song", And everyone pitches in to get it done quick

These are important skills to teach your kids too. It will help them from feeling like you one day. So make sure they are aware and involved in the cleanup effort before they are allowed to do the things that make additional messes

This is not easy! It will be hard and will cause some sacrifices to be made. Like, if there is a mess that hasn't been cleaned up as expected and you're on her way to a movie? Sucks to suck. Clean first, then hope you at least only miss the previews

This ties into other parts of our psychology like delayed gratification, respect for others' things and shared spaces, community responsibility, how your actions impact others...

Get them involved ASAP, NOT EVER as a punishment but as an inevitable responsibility. "This is what we do when we make a mess. Why? Because it is kind to others and kind to our future selves"

Lastly, this is a skill you build up over time. It's not going to magically be completely fixed by This One Simple Trick That Dust Bunnies Hate™. Practice practice practice. And that applies to the kids too. One of them too young to really help clean? Give them a tiny task (can you carry that empty cardboard box from over there to over here? Good job! Thanks for helping) that makes them feel like they are participating so that "cleaning up after ourselves" is just how things are done in their world

You've got a great teaching opportunity for your kids here (and maybe even a hypothetical partner). I wish you the best of luck. This is by far one of the biggest challenges parenthood brings to the table. Know that you're not alone in the struggle.

  • Yeah, so, Google already has this data about you. What they're doing here is trying to reduce the specificity of information given to advertisers about your behaviors, and simultaneously give you the ability to never inform specific third parties about your interest in the specific topics you choose

I see this as a good thing. They were literally already getting and using all of this data. In that case I'd much rather have some control over who knows which things about me, rather than leaving it entirely up to Google

  • And I like that it's just different enough to leave me wondering if what comes next will be different than what I expected. I think that's awesome. And I really like the changes they've made so far, in terms of how it will obviously impact the future

  • Nope, it's not that game. Nor, IMO, could they possibly make that game successful enough to justify the cost of the remake. There aren't enough people like you to generate the sales numbers they are looking for. Could you make a reasonably successful product like that? Sure. Would it make the amount of money square-enix is interested in? I strongly doubt it. Because I wouldn't buy that game and I enjoyed ff7. I don't really care if they have cubes for hands. I'm not playing it for the graphics heh

  • As I said with the first one: I already have ff7. I don't need ff7 again. If I want ff7 I'll go play ff7. I'm incredibly happy they decided to spice things up and give it a twist. This has me even more excited for next week!

  • Uh sunshine is usually MORE performant, not less. I would suggest heading to the Moonlight/Sunshine discord server and requesting help there.

Personally I have no issues streaming 4k@60 150mbps on a wired connection with moonlight and sunshine. Would try @120 if I had a display that supported it lol
