Going to a PeerTube home page feels like a weird mix of Interdimensional Cable and very early YouTube.
Discoverability is almost 0 and I can’t easily find any videos that I’d like to watch, as you said. I assume most people would leave once they see what’s on the home page.
FYI: Okay, I've just shared a meme here as a test and with my second attempt I figured out that if we attach the pic in the URL section, then the preview is visible before opening the post. While the way you're doing it now, you can't see them directly from the community page.
I run lemmy.world on a VPS at Hetzner. They are cheap and good. Storage: I now (after 11 days) have 2GB of images and 2GB of database.
