  • Wow the pokemon thing is legit. What a perfect example of the sad state of legal content consumption.

  • Definitely could be.

I've seen lots of reports of them overheating in crowded boxes. I recently removed it just in case I botched the set up.

  • Pretty hype. I think the direct-to-cell stuff is super cool for emergencies.

I hope people read up on its limitations before thinking this is Starlink for cellphones.

  • I wasn't aware of the monthly threads because I normally browse by last 24h but I'll try to show up more.

FWIW I find Starlink pretty boring these days until V2 starts going up.

I'll try to identify why I still occasionally browse /r/SpaceX but I think it's just the insurance that the feed will have all of the news I am looking for.

  • Our Jack-of-all-trades run was deemed the "jack off" session with all four of us "jacking off".

  • 98 flights is an amazing record. Can't wait for more in 2024!

Also man the X-37B is still going strong!

  • It's not an all or nothing process for develope OSS.

  • What about it in particular?

I can't stand the politics in Idaho but it's a beautiful state with a (largely) sour population of religious idiots.

  • This is just a Pepsi Float after it had an hour to melt.

  • Being a private company is a huge boon for SpaceX. Even if they roll Starlink into a subsidiary I'm not sure taking it public makes sense for them.

  • Hosting the software is only part of the problem, and not the hardest one from my experience.

The great spam catcher of Microsoft and Google are incrediblely dense and arcane, mail will often be rejected or swallowed from small mail servers.

  • These Handmaid's Tale images are great!

  • Cool to see newer boosters are prepared for this.

  • Shelly is good but one of my switches overheats constantly. Shelly 1 Plus PM.

  • I like how this was posted on LinkedIn.

  • Not asking for any Apple this Christmas, but gifting an Apple tv 4k to the parents and an ipad to my niece (her first apple product!).

  • Medical privacy is a great example.

Consider a situation like Texas right now where abortion went from a normal, legal thing to something that you can be fined and jailed for.

Would such a person be OK with the state having access to their medical records so they could jail or fine them?

People need to understand that much of privacy precautions are "layers" of security against "what if" scenarios that can sometimes be very real.
