  • Why the hell would anyone feel any need to harass someone like this?

    Micro-penises.

  • I don’t have any mainstream media accounts and I’m pretty happy with that choice.

Although honestly I feel like Lemmy is feeling a lot like second Reddit recently and I’m pretty sad about this. See: dozens and dozens of low effort moth memes on feed now.

  • That was a wild ride.

  • FWIW I have the color and the non-color libra, and if you’re just interested in reading books where color isn’t a huge part of the experience I highly recommend the non-color version. The contrast ratio and legibility are simply far better.

  • I mean, if we’re being technical then “hate speech” isn’t a legal term at all, but I should have made it clearer that I was alleging the republicans were building their usual flimsy-as-shit-case to harass their “enemies”.

  • Making a statement legally classified as antisemitism opens up legal retaliation under the guise of “hate speech”, which is not protected speech.

It doesn’t change the truth of it, but it does change he the consequences of it.

  • This is the first time I’ve seen it and I was pretty interested until I saw the crypto ties.

    What a disappointment.

  • I support protesting. If they had said “we know this will impact some of our users negatively and we regret that, but we are choosing to protest this change anyways” I’d be much more on board.

Calling it simply useless though I think hurts the protest.

  • Orca Slicer’s developer, SoftFever, has publicly declined to adopt Bambu Connect, calling it unnecessary and of no meaningful benefit to users.

This is a frustrating take. If they don’t adopt Connect then at some point Bambu users are going to be forced into that update and will lose what I consider critical functionality. Seems pretty meaningful to me.

  • Absolutely no factiod about Lee could possibly outweigh the indignity of sending black people—who have volunteered to serve their country—to a place named after a person who fought for the right to keep them as property.

    Humanity first.

  • Tell me more about how they’re the party of states rights and small government

  • Games and hardware get released in bursts at the same time. Buying one a month is easier for me to manage than four at once.

  • Because games and hardware get released in bursts. If I know I’m going to buy it day one preordering one a month is easier to manage than buying them all at the same time.

The couple of bucks from the savings account over that time period is less helpful to me.

I genuinely don’t get the “don’t pre order just buy the day it releases” thing. What do you think you’re winning?

  • No. Pre-ordering is how I spread costs out.

Stop blaming the victim for shitty corporate practices.

  • Price hikes for what, Lenovo? I’m still waiting for them to send me my Legion Go S SteamOS edition that I preordered on day one.

Edit for context: it was supposed to be in my hands May 25th.

  • Could’ve sworn he was deported because he was a ms13 gang member. We even had a photo clearly showing ms13 on his hand above some unrelated symbols. Right? Totally not photoshopped obviously?

Is ms13 like running a bus depot now?

Fuck man the narrative is so stupid it’s hard to even make jokes about it because just stating the facts is already the damn joke.

  • if you’re pre-born you’re fine. If you’re pre-school you’re fucked.

    Good ol’ George Carlin.

  • Well, that sucks that you’ve had problems, but it doesn’t match up with my experience of using homebrew over the last decade. I can’t think of a time outside that one time they changed the install paths where homebrew has caused an issue.

  • I went from Linux to a Mac for work years ago. Install home brew on day one and the experience overall will be much better.

The terminal on the Mac is surprisingly good. I felt right at home with it very quickly. Xcode comes with cli tooling to build software without a lot of messing with it and finding library dlls (looking at you, windows)

The window placement philosophy takes some getting used to (see yabai for a viable tiling window solution though) and the key modifiers will frustrate you (though I eventually ended up liking cmd a lot).

Overall though I feel like Mac gets a lot of hate where it’s not deserved. I still hate their business model, and my personal laptop is Linux for that reason, but the product itself is fine.
