Migrated from Windows to Linux. Decided to share list of answers/statements I was looking for before did it (and could not find).

  • We both agree that everyone should have its own distro, I'm on Pop_OS most of the time, but I used Manjaro for a while and I didn't notice many instabilities... but well I'm a very average user!

  • I do a Clonezilla image on an old 3.5'' drive from time to time, most of my documents are stored on the cloud so I'm pretty safe in terms of 'uptodateness'

  • I'm a bit surprised by this, looking at common recommandations for PC laptops Lenovo is mentioned 90% of the time then alternative manufacturers like frame.work. What would be your recommandation then?

    • The Firefox browser now has a built-in page translator that works even without the Internet

  • I quickly tried yesterday and I could do it seamlessly, it worked very well. If you go to the preferences there's a option to download the languages in parts of 100-200MB/each.

  • I agree, in the meantime I updated my browser and it worked impressively well for a new feature. I find it fast. Glad to have this implemented offline too. Nice addition to my favorite browser! đź‘Ť
