  • Please provide evidence that trans women's performance in athletics competitions is favourably outside of the expected range for cis women.

  • The point of all leagues/divisions/brackets is to foster community and competition. Consistent domination of any one group of people stifles that.

If people with green eyes started winning every single javelin competition it would be a reason to consider making a green eyed javelineer league assuming their was the numbers and interest to support it (otherwise you're just banning green eye'd javelineers de facto).

  • The same fucking reason why people resented segregation you idiot.

You are not this stupid, this is entirely bad faith. Just say "I find trans women gross and I don't give a shit about trans men" instead of pretending you have anything principled to say.

  • Why though? Also you are aware that every woman on hormonal birth control gets excluded using that criteria. Or undergoing treatment for PCOS (which amusingly makes them more fair competition).

you do know things about womens' health right, you're not just talking from a position of ignorance are you? That would be a pretty silly thing to do.

  • Why though? Why these categories and not others? Why is being transgender meaningful for sport?

  • If you're position is excluding trans women from sport because of vibes you're just a transphobe.

There is no rabid hoard of transwomen waiting to overrun sport and sweep the awards. Until recently this wasn't even an issue, the Olympics has allowed trans women to compete from like 2000. Where are the medals?

We're a tiny population who generally perform worse than natal women because our T is lower. Despite all the contrived "just asking questions" about skeleton size or whatever nonsense there is no clear picture of advantage. At any rate tall women aren't banned from sport. Even women with PCOS aren't banned from sport.

We don't have seperate leagues for people raised in stable households on good diets and yet that's got performance benefits that swamp anything from having a slightly higher forearm to middle finger ratio or whatever insane thing people bring up.

This whole thing is completely drummed up and is just an acceptable way for the general unease cis people feel about trans people to be voiced.

  • What the Kentucky fried fuck does this have to do with the price of beans?

Also just what? there are religions that have nothing to do with concepts of sin or karma or whatever.

  • Some were just born there. Idk if visiting the sins of ancestors on children clever. Defs needs to be some sort of reconciliation process and evening the wealth and land held by all who live there.

Nfi how this will happen. Truthtelling and reconciliation is barely happening in other colonial nations with significantly less oppression and hatred towards the native people :(

  • People have value, people can also behave monsterously and it can be a good thing if they stop which can include dying.

Human lives don't have infinite value, that would be a position that would mean killing someone on a murderous rampage would be just as bad as letting them kill forever.

    Two things can be true:

    • people should not be killed because of who they are and lives should be spared where possible

    and

    • some people are harmful and it's fine to want them to face some sort of consequences for that and/or die and stop being harmful.
  • I will happily stand up for the basic human rights of people who may despise me. They're rights.

Even if someone thinks I'm awful, that doesn't mean it's ok to wipe them out. If they start harming people then it is appropriate to handle that however is prudent but I believe that people ought not be tried, convicted, and executed in someone's head.

Besides, solidarity has a marvelous tendency to build bridges.

  • Bacteria take it out of the atmosphere slowly. It's a certain rate per land, and due to the coastline paradox we know that the area of land is infinite.

  • That's a bit melodramatic but we are facing problems on a rather unprecedented scale.

The connectedness of the world and the fragility of profit maximising economies means that local crises are global and there isn't much slack to absorb shocks. We're seeing that now with how badly we've dealt with a pandemic (not even a particularly bad one by historical standards) which is an expected event you must plan for. We're seeing it as we get squeezed by rising insurance premiums as disasters become more likely and so on.

Maybe the Teflon in our teeth wont matter too much, maybe we will somehow address climate change without displacing hundreds of millions of people and the expected refugee crisis, maybe we'll handle the resurgent fascism in western democracies but that doesn't change that the system we're in is fragile and people are stretched to their limits.

  • Uh huh, of course.

So it's pronouns right? that's what's got you worked up?

  • "I constantly complain about anyone left of Thatcher and have reactionary social views, the people who agree with me don't criticise me. Curious!"

  • r/thinlydisguisedpedophillia?

  • Ah, that refreshing sub zero air

  • Libertarian, outside... choose one.

  • Humans. It is difficult to find stuff online that is the genuine work of a human.

Even when something is written by a human half the time now it's wierd algorithmically driven clickbait or internet points driven in "jokes" and so on.

I just miss people and their interests.

  • I mean I have a media center off center in a room with 2 glass walls, one brick, and one gyprock. I obviously am not hanging towels over my beautiful windows.

Bluetooth 5, a 2.1 fosi amp, and some cheap Edifier speakers sounds completely fine on the couch 2 meters away. There's no point putting in more effort imho because any subtle improvements are completely drowned out by echoes, dogs barking, neighbours mowing, the wind rattling doors and windows or whatever.

I am completely on side with people who think shitty earbuds with crackle or overpriced Logitech speakers are a sadness. I think most "audiophiles" are sucked in by marketing and very few are doing the necessary accoustic setup for most of what they're buying to matter.

  • if only we all found it as easy to find horny people IRL as on the net XD
