Yeah, I thought it's showing me the current voting already.
In another comment someone explained to me, that this is just the default position before the vote - which I find pretty intuitive unintuitive.
But maybe that's just me...
You're right, that training takes the most energy, but weren't there articles claiming, that reach request was costing like (don't know, but not pennies) dollars?
Looking at my local computer turn up the fans, when I run a local model (without training, just usage), I'm not so sure that just using current model architecture isn't also using a shitload of energy
Yeah, because the Austrian military is a fucking joke
We seem to rely solely on neutrality, because "look at Switzerland during WW2!!", but all of those idiots completely miss, that the Swiss were armed to the teeth to defend themselves.
While in Austria every form of building up self defense measures are always countered by neutrality claims, because as long as we aren't a threat, no one will attack us
Yeah, that will work out great, when we get rolled over...
But if the FPÖ gets its way, we'll probably already showing our bellies to the wannabe strong man in Moscow, because Russia will play a big part in supporting right wing parties and with that, they are happy to meet their master it seems.
Are the Eurofighter really good?
At least in the first years I've only read about problems and the ones in Austria couldn't fly for most of the time
But that's quite some years ago, so I can't remember what the problems actually were - and have no idea, if those got finally resolved
Is there any comparison to relative modern MiGs (or whatever the correct counterpart would be)?
Edit: also I've read that the American jets have some kind of lock, where we need some unlock code from the USA. Is that correct?
Because that is quite some high level of trust into a foreign power to let ourselves defend our countries
Not sure, if we can completely replace US weapons, including jets and so on, already.
I guess, that much will be spend at European companies, but I'm pretty sure a bulk will go the the USA military industry
and maybe also other countries - I'm not really up-to-date with current military capabilities and production facilities in Europe or worldwide
It's the institutionalisation of religion that's a problem.
If everyone would just focus on finding their own connection with god/the universe/whatever, nobody would have a problem.
Fuck churches and using religion for politics.
That's why we have the separation of church and state at least - although not enough and currently it's backpedaling...
Well, no nation can function without it's citizens, else there would be no workers.
It's much more to get a critical mass of people to act in the same way, because they're fed up.
If that critical mass is reached it doesn't matter how strong the military is. If they shoot everybody down, there would be no nation anymore.
But it's hard to reach that critical mass, as politics like to divide an conquer, and let the people fight against each other, because they just blame a specific group of people for some problem.
It's always the all over shadowing enemy, that is just a small minority we can hate eradicate easily, because they are weaker.
As long as people fall for the fascist bullshit, we won't see any reasonable grass roots mass movements happening, because one group falls after another and so they all need to fight for themselves.
Maybe I got off track a little in the end, but I tried to sew it together still ;-)
