Yeah, Prosciutto is awesome!
Ever tried some Serrano ham?
Stuff from iberico pigs just seem to put it up a notch
Edit: maybe I've to add, that my colleague is really spoiled on that regard and we went through at least 5 different locations, until he got the iberico ham, he values as really good.
Was a fun night, as it customer was paying and we just went tapas bar hoping, until we found THE ham - although I'm not sure, if the ham really got better or we only got more drunk ;-)
Yeah, FreeBSD OS absolutely awesome
Have nothing more to add...
Well, maybe: I wanted to setup my work server with FreeBSD and I really had trouble getting Linux VMs up and running
Still don't know, what I did wrong, but I went the other way round and setup a Linux server, with a FreeBSD VM as "Gate-keeper" (my Wireguard every point), and so it secures my other stuff behind
But I really liked how nice it is to work with. Sadly I was too stupid to set it up right, with multiple services/containers/VMs I needed ...
You're losing anonymity, when you log into your VPN through TOR
TOR gives you anonymity, but if you connect through TOR to your VPN, which you probably registered with some of your data (or maybe your real IP), all the hops through TOR are useless, because your VPN connection is associated with you.
It really depends on who you want to hide from.
If it's your ISP, then connecting over VPN to TOR could make sense, when your ISP is restrictive regarding TOR. But that's pretty much the only usecase I can come up with at the moment
FlashDim on F-Droid can do this as well, if you look for an open source option (don't know Torchie, maybe it's OSS as well, then I at least brought up another option)
As this isn't based on AI, interpretation of existing scenes could be...hard?
But you could try to build a process chain, where AI sets the parameters for infinigen, after analysing an existing model, and then it should probably be able to fine tune and compare or something
But I'm not to deep in AI development to really speak here
I just looked through the different Zorin OS editions and I'm not quite sure, what their "Advanced productivity tools" are, they're selling in their "Pro" Version
Anyway, I was more flirting with the education edition anyway, but not sure if there is too much bloat, meant for school administration stuff.
So I was thinking about just going for the Core version and install the educational software afterwards.
But the Pro version kinda puts me off.
If there are some system settings not accessable, because they strangle the user account to not be able to actually do with their system as they want, then this is not interesting for me.
But I guess, I'm seeing it to dark here...?
Would be nice to know, if you have any insight, what the actual difference to the Pro version is, despite some themes and pre installed creative software
Only the advanced productivity things let some alarm bells ring, but maybe I'm paranoid here?
Thanks in advance!
I'll soon need to manage to test it out, but would be nice to have some more information upfront :-)
I just upgraded a laptop of a friend with a bit of RAM and an SSD instead of the 5400rpm drive, and put Linux Mint with Cinnamon on it.
Took all the data, obviously scattered around on the desktop and where not, and tried take a more sane approach in restoring here data, and put them in the corresponding folders in home, I seemed fit.
Installed a few graphics programs, and pretty much handed it to her, and never got the chance to show her around.
She really seems to like it still and haven't had much questions - but maybe they will come in the future.
I now plan to move my mother's old laptop to Linux Mint on my Christmas visit as well.
As she only browses the web and answers mails, she mostly uses her tablet anyway.
We will see how that one goes...
Edit: btw, the installation process was a breeze. And as it comes as a live Linux image, you can already look your way around a bit, to decide, if you like it. But most user friendly distributions also provide the same nice installation experience. Linux really leads the market, when it comes to installer and live media - imho
I still made the mistake, when I sleep deprived switched if and of somehow
My then girlfriend wasn't exactly happy, that all here photos and music, which we just moved off old CDs, that couldn't be read correctly anymore, and I spent quite some time to finally move them
Obviously the old CDs and the backup image were thrown out/deleted just a few days earlier, because I proudly had saved the bulk of it - and being poor students having loads of storage for multiple backups wasn't in reach.
Backing them up again to fresh CDs was on the plan, but I quickly needed a live USB stick to restore my work laptop...
Since then I'm always anxious, when working with dd. Still years later I triple check and already think through my backup restoration plan
Which is a good thing in itself, but my heart rate spikes can't be healthy
Holy fuck is business insider unreadable - without blocking their shitty scroll-up popup thingy
Currently I just switch to text mode/reader thing in Firefox
But boah, is that thing nerve-wracking
How could anyone think, that this bullshit would lead me to buy a subscription?
Sorry for the off-topic rant, but that shit really hits a nerve
Is my good old internet really gone to shit and the only way to get real information is through Gemini/Gopher?
And while I'm on it: are there any search engines for that?
I tried to build up some link lists/bookmarks for stuff I'm interested, but would be really cool to have a search engine for it - as there one existing I don't know about, or do I use it wrong?
Care to explain why?
For clarification, the GrapheneOS part
