  • Everything in economics comes at its cycle. The economy improves, hiring picks up, and if jobs exceed workers by enough, eventually, wages go up. Even then, it takes a while for workers to feel confident. Corporations generally will put more hiring and wage raises off as long as possible.

This cycle is not in sync through the country. Hot areas will have to respond faster. Cooler area may not respond at all. Red states are generally in cooler regions. Austerity does not promote growth.

  • If you look at what the religion actually has as its tenets, it is more mainstream and mentally healthier than a number of Christian religions. I still am not a member, tho, just looking in from the outside. The triggering is not the point of the religion, but is an activism to defend a separation of church and state. I grew up in a cult religion, and REALLY do not want any religion to be part of government.

  • Fox Corp.'s $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems says that Fox should stop libeling. There are plenty of other lawsuits to point out that say the same thing.

If what Fox claimed were true, they would have won the lawsuit. If what Fox claimed were not provably, knowingly lies, Fox would have won.

I always side with the person who speaks truth, who fights lies.

  • This is a red herring lie to induce fear in homophobic followers. It is little different from the lies to that crime is rising, and that black/Latino/immigrant/Antifa crime is skyrocketing. Do not take my word for it. Look at actual crime statistics. Republicans are both being lied to, and spreading those same lies.

The common thread is Republicans are dividing our country by promoting fear, distrust, and rage through their lies.

  • They would become a territory, like Puerto Rico. They would still have citizenship and the benefits of citizenship, such as they would still have taxes. But would not vote in presidential elections, and their representatives would get no vote.

It is the best of all worlds. /$

  • I still remember that happening when the pandemic first was ramping up. Blue states purchased masks for essential personnel, while Trump sent people to confiscate the supplies to give to Red states donors for resale. Shipments had to be masked for supplies to get to hospitals in the wrong states. Republicans are doubling down on the war on blue.

  • Assume Trump prevails. If a President can do anything without being held liable, and carry that immunity for life, what would stop Dark Brandon from clearing the field of Presidential candidates, the Senate, the House, SCOTUS, and both Fox and OAN for good measure? They really haven't thought this through.

  • I really don't see SCOTUS taking this trial on. Trump and Epstein having laughs, and reports of sexual proclivities of clients floating around! Unless It proved that Ms Carrol, an adult, was a couple decades too old for Trump.

  • I grew up when polio was a scourge. A relative was an anti-vaxxer, and one of her children was not given the Salk vaccine. Her child lived his life in braces, and over his lifetime, literally had millions of dollars spent on trying to minimize the damage from that one ignorant choice. Their family was bankrupted, and the entire family lived in poverty from that point on, spending every penny that they could, trying to undo the damage. There is a true cost of not getting vaccinated, but double-blind meta study has not shown any cost tied to getting vaccinated for covid, for the general population.
