Each to their own I guess, I much prefer a quiet office.
We have a visitor here once every week or so who is one of those people that seems to think silence is a bad thing to be avoided, so it's -endless- chatter, it's a nightmare when I'm trying to concentrate.
The odd bit of conversation is fine, but he seems to be deeply offended by silence and it drives us nuts!
Picture it, late 1990's. @mysticgreg is working in Sydney and living in the southern suburbs, right near one of the early Oporto stores. IT WAS GLORIOUS. Double-Bondi burgers with tender, juicy chicken fillets bigger than your head, and chilli hot enough to melt the paper they came in. Rappas so good they would launch you into another dimension.
Time moves on, I return to Victoria. Decades later I stumble upon an Oporto and think OH YES, IT HAS RETURNED TO MY LIFE. I order. I unwrap the food. I look confused. I taste it. I cry. I mourn. I leave.
Haven't kept up if you've made earlier posts on this... but pfsense won't run on a celeron? Is that because of the BSD-ness of it all? TIL.
I'm running it on a total overkill 6th-gen i5 but thought the requirements were pretty lightweight. Depends on what you need to do with it I guess! I've also got the thing doing DNS, DHCP, ntopng and incoming VPN and the thing still sits at basically idle.
Are the requirements any lighter for opnsense? Still BSD though I guess, if that's the issue. It's been years since I've looked at this stuff, I had lots of stability issues on opnsense but it may have improved now.
I -have- found that yelling at it, followed by some percussive maintenance, sometimes helps.
Yeah these things definitely aren't AliExpress specials, they've got a bit of heft to them.
I'm certain many mobile phone stores who do these screen protector installs have one out the back, they just take the phone to the machine and BAM, perfection.
