  • I wish people in groups would tell the guy who is talking way too loud to calm down. I can hear my guy over the noise of the entire bar or baseball game talking about this airplane cockpit or some shit, like crazy loud. Turn to look at the people with him and they just look awkward. You’re his friend tell him to shut the fuck up.

  • Am I supposed to just be seeing a grey box?

  • You’re weird. Why don’t you like us?

  • My daughter is 15 and you’re exactly right. Demographic wise…who do guy think the target audience for threads is and how is meta going to stay in business if Gen Z uses NONE of their apps?

  • Only needed one sentence there to know all I need to. “Currently there is no way to only see people you follow.” Lol so more bullshit like Facebook and Instagram where you get friend, Ad, sponsored post, you might like this, group post, friend, Ad, Ad…

Just another way for Facebook to feed you non stop adverting in between tiny bites of content. We talk about how terrible Reddit is…I don’t understand how my wife uses Facebook at all.

I feel bad for people who will get sucked into this nonsense and enjoy the fediverse through an app that is basically malware come to life.

  • Yeah could be. I have seen some other comments around that lemm.ee had some visibility issues going both ways with other instances.

Still trying to understand how this works in the little details 😬

  • Sweet. The one I had problems with isn’t super small. It’s got thousands of users. Lemm.ee

But seems like quite a bit of content is missing both ways between other instances.

  • All of the people still using Reddit who called protesters whiners and power hungry mods are going to realize what we were protesting soon enough. Dumbshits. Enjoy the show, it’s gonna keep getting worse.

  • Thanks I did try this and it seems to have worked for Midwest.social. I appreciate you explaining. I guess I understand some of how this works but some of the ways federation works aren’t clear to me.

If you have a community or post on one instance, do the instances like “crawl” each other or something? How do they eventually catch up?

  • So if open the community on instance b (manually, because it won’t come up in search), subscribe and refresh…it should fetch it at some point? Seems odd because this is an old community with only 6 posts. It still isn’t showing up the following day

  • I guess that makes about as much sense as anything does. Or as little.

  • About 15 years ago I had to ask someone on Twitter to explain to me what a meme was. Since that time…the definition has changed drastically.

  • We also need comments. I created this comment so we would have comments
