  • Of course it’s that thing in Rocky Horror where the camera flashes from bedroom to bedroom in Frank’s sex castle and everybody is singing and fucking, then Janet realizes it’s NOT Brad in her bed

  • Absolutely. Often there are no fucking useful search results on Google at all besides Reddit threads…

  • Difficulty setting. I play on easy mode and DGAF what anyone thinks because my time is precious and I’m playing for fun. I decide what’s fun.

Creative/cheat mode…let me just pause, build myself a fantastic 10 story house… Open inventory and spawn a wife, 3 kids, a dog and 2 billion dollars in my pocket. Oh no, does that mean I can't get achievements because I cheated? Oh well.

Steal a car, lose the cops and it’s mine now. No consequences.

Important story moments of your life play as cutscenes which you have no control over…so you can’t mess it up and know you’re exactly where you should be. This would be peaceful.

    Hints & tutorials.

    Play as a different character.

Choose your appearance instantly -gender, body shape, skin/eye/hair color, size of nose/ears/eyebrows, clothes, accessories

Things you buy spawn instantly wherever you are

    Change tattoos instantly, including removing

Closed captioning for all dialogue and other sounds

Increase skills simply by grinding, even for things like skateboarding, singing, playing music, acrobatics etc that require raw talent and YEARS of training/practice

  • How much was it as opposed to just buying on Amazon?

  • I don’t know that anything will be the same because it took so long for everyone to gather there and make 100,000 thriving communities about every random little thing from rare diseases to Pokémon made from toilet paper tubes, sexy John Oliver, kids getting hit on the head. If got interested in some random TV show, you could find a sub where there would be 100 interesting conversations about it. That just doesn’t exist outside of Reddit. Where even could it? Fucking Quora? Facebook groups?

I don’t know what anyone could have done to preserve it though. If it’s POSSIBLE to slap a million ads on it and make a billion dollars, but definitely ruin it forever…it’s inevitable. Nothing can stop that.

  • I wonder if they don’t even want mods. Just AI/algorithms and ads. What is 100 well moderated, mindful discussions worth compared to a single, well targeted ad?

  • I’m sorry. The corporate assholes don’t deserve to pad their fat wallets based on your free labor, but it’s still absolutely the loss of something you love when you step away and it hurts. I’m still grieving losing Apollo and all of the goofy, weird ass little subs and brilliant human beings who made me laugh and cry every day on Reddit. It’s not been replaced in my life. It took millions of us almost 20 years to make that stupid website something incredible…I can’t deny that it was incredible at points.

It’s gone, it’s just a website now and an app with ads every 3rd pixel just like the rest. There is still some good content and good people, just as there are on TikTok, Bookface, X and insta. The decent shit that is there, on all of the platforms, is overwhelmed by their horrible algorithm trying to sell you shit and increase engagement to monetize your every click.

    1. Bought a timeshare in Vegas. Never used it. Paid the mortgage and maintenance fees for a few years then said fuckem and just stopped. Such a scam. They went out of business during the 2008 recession and it eventually fell off of our credit reports.
    2. Sold cutco knives in college (MLM). Perfectly fine product but overpriced and they basically get you pester all of your family and friends. I paid for the sample products myself. Made the biggest sale to my parents. Mostly just embarrassing.
    3. I bought speakers out a van like some other commenters. Probably paid too much, they sounded good and I used them for at least 10 years.
  • Get some Chinese investors and a couple affiliate links…what could go wrong

  • Brilliant

  • According to my online family tree my 11th Great Grandmother is Joan Shakespeare, William Shakespeare’a sister, making The Bard my 11th Great Granduncle. When I was looking around that was the only notable one I could find who is a direct relative…if you allow 9 times removed and shit basically everyone is related to Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga and Abraham Lincoln.

  • I pretty much listen to podcasts in order from oldest to newest so I haven’t seen any transcripts yet. Supposedly they are doing (adding transcripts) to all new episodes and old episodes will be filled in over time. I don’t know why I’m just really anal about it even if it’s just science stuff I feel like I always have to listen to stuff in order of release…

  • It’s great that you want to create more communities but making one and then only putting up one post isn’t going to get it done…

    Love ya

  • I think TikTok is at its peak and will be sad if it goes to shit like Insta and Facebook. Although I am a Gen Xer it currently fills the holes that Twitter and Reddit left empty…I see what is trending, cool stuff, news, cute animals and broaden my horizons with lgbtq and black issues. Of course it’s not the same experience for everyone but I find it pretty fulfilling a lot of times as social media, entertainment etc.

  • I think often times the question are well intentioned but to some degree they are also fishing for things they can’t legally ask like are you planning to get pregnant soon, will you be a flake because you have sick kids or a parent you’re taking care of, planning to retire soon. Are you a job hopper. Will investing time and training in you worth it for us. I was always dumb and just answered those questions mostly honestly but they just listen for signs you won’t be a model slave in some cases.

I tried to get a position I was overqualified for once and told them I was looking forward to not being a manager, not having to have every employee be my problem, be able to take time off without coming back with a mess…take a weekend off now and then…be a great fucking employee and then clock the fuck out.

Their questions got really shitty and it was very clear they were twisting everything I said into meaning I wasn’t a team player. Bullshit I’m the best player on every team I’ve ever been on at work.

Long story short, don’t answer questions like that honestly. Don’t be honest about anything. Lol

  • Exact same boat. Pocket casts has been my app since it came out. I can’t live without closed captioning on tv so wondering if this will be cool in podcasts

  • Excited to try transcripts for podcasts. I installed the Apple Podcast app a few weeks ago to get ready for this…
