  • I had at my home spare Raspberry Pi 4B in 4GB version. I installed the Android TV version of LineageOS on it and then Jellyfin and SmartTube apps (something like NewPipe, but for TV). I highly recommend it.

Edit: You may also find these apps useful:

LocalSend - to transfer files between devices in the same network

KDE Connect - to control your TV with your phone when you don't have any Bluetooth keyboard around you

  • The post is about saying "No, I do not want to be fingerprinted", not "Here are my faked attributes that change every time I visit you". What's the point of sending a DNT header if companies don't care and just do what they do?

  • Do you seriously think these data hungry companies will care about your IP location and won't fingerprint you? I doubt it.

  • Oh, okay! thanks for the clarification. What are you using for incremental backups?

  • You could:

    • Ask your neighbor if he has unmetered Internet connection and if so, then chip in (⚠️ This may be against their operator's terms of service. Before doing so, please check the terms of service)
    • Ask a friend with unmetered connection to download all the stuff for you and just hand you the disk
    • Use a public hotspot (such as McDonald's Free WiFi) to download this stuff. Take into account that the download speed will be extremely slow.
    • Rent a server in the datacenter (i.e. VPS), download the data there, and get the data using your connection only as much as you need at the moment. The disadvantage is that you don't really own the data stored on this server.
  • Ok, why syncthing and not rsync? Also, duplication should not be threated as backup.

  • I mean memes should be funny and it is not funny as it is real

  • Why is this a comment?

  • Why is this a meme

  • Try OnlyOffice

  • The system should activate itself if you only replace the disk.

But... if you ever need a license use one of the activation scripts from massgravel on githu... I mean buy a new license on microsoft.com and enjoy your shiny, legally activated operaring system.

...or just install Linux, if your use case allows you to do so

  • cat is the program that reads the contents of specific file
