You disagreeing does not make it a bad analogy.

If you hire someone to do a job and the process of doing that job results in someone being killed then yes, you absolutely are to blame, but that's not what happened here. They didn't hire someone to protect themselves, they contracted an AI company to delete anything which could paint them in a bad light then made claims of fraud through nonstandard channels to force their way through red tape then threatened parents of their victim when they were called out.

If you hire a hitman you're still on the hook for murder. Making someone else do your dirty work does not absolve you. Especially when you're a corporation and literally everything you do is through people you pay.

Lucky you, you must have grown up very middle-class. The cops in the UK are just as shitty as they are elsewhere.

As a kid I was walking a friend home when some cunt came up behind us and attacked me, busted my nose open then ran away. The cops must have waited at least a week to follow up, by which time they couldn't do anything because I didn't have a good enough way to identify the attacker.

Some years later I'm delivering newspapers, there's one particular street where I always get harassed in some way. It escalates until one day I'm literally jumped by three fully grown adults, absolute scum attacking a kid on the street. I call the cops as soon as possible afterwards and they actually show up, but as I'm sitting crying in the back of their car they strongly encourage me to drop it, some excuse about how they'll all deny it so it's not worth investigating. I'm young and naive so I listen to them, but I've regretted that ever since.

You're thinking of misandrists. Feminism is about equality of the sexes. Other groups (eg misandrists and terfs) sometimes claim to be feminist as a cover. A feminist believes men and woman are equals, a misogynist believes women are inferior, and a misandrist believes men are inferior.

Why bother? They're safe at room temperature unless they've already been refrigerated, might as well use that fridge space for some that actually benefits from the cold.

At room temperature they're good for a month or two. If you want long term storage you might as well prep and freeze them which will last you about a year, or there's a ton of other long-term preservation techniques.

"Better economy" is vague and nebulous, it's my belief that if someone tells you that's why they voted they way they did they either didn't care enough to actually look into their candidates' policies or they're trying to hide the real reason they voted. And it's very unlikely if their primary concern is the economy they wouldn't bother looking into economic policy beforehand. If that's what they truly voted for they'd have specific concrete talking points instead, eg changes to some specific tax or changes in funding for some specific type of business.

The same goes for candidates with a platform of "better economy". Is it a better economy if everyone still struggles as they do now but the people at the top get infinitely richer? Is it a better economy if all big businesses fail but more people now have enough to live healthily and safely? "The economy" is too broad, it means nothing. Specific policy or it's all bullshit.

This is true for all public holidays in the UK, there's a (usually) fixed number of public holidays but the dates are flexible.

They're also included in the minimum 28 days paid time off too, meaning if you're a full time worker and have to work on a bank holiday your employer is legally required to offer an extra day off somewhere else instead, either a fixed date or added to your holiday allowance. Conversely, the "extra" day off you get when a monarch keels over may be subtracted from your holiday allowance for the year. This is also why my employer is allowed to follow English bank holidays despite having next to no presence in England; the number is fixed but the dates are not.

This didn't sound right to me, I'm sure I heard LGBT more than 15 years ago, so I looked it up. According to Wikipedia LGBT was first used around 1988 but OED says 1992, other sources say it became widespread in either the 90s or 00s (varies by source). So 15 is a lower bound for widespread usage but I don't think we can get much more specific than "15 to 35 years ago".

If you're pressing a button and want to cancel you can pretty much universally just move off the button before releasing the press and it won't trigger the action. Works 99% of the time with a mouse, almost as often with a touch interface. Some custom-coded buttons will action on start press (not great imo) and some buttons do some other action on a long press, but if you're holding it and nothing else has happened just dragging off is safe enough.

There definitely are rules to language, which are determined by how the language is actually used. The issue with prescriptivists is that they invent their own rules which often go against how the language is used, i.e. the rules are nonsense.

Take the "less vs fewer" argument. Everyone happily uses 'less' in pretty much the same way for nearly a millennium, then some prescriptivist asswipe comes along and says they don't like it so now there's a rule. Prescriptivists spend the next couple of centuries yelling about their new rule and creaming themselves over how they're now 'better' at the language than other people while everyone else just doesn't give a fuck and continue to speak normally.

In the end language is just a tool to communicate ideas. If you clearly understood someone but whine because they ignored your made up rules you're the asshole.

Assuming it works as they say you'll still be able to play the game as normal but nobody else would know unless they directly log in to your account.

The faq doesn't mention the new Steam Family stuff though. I'm guessing it'll at least be hidden for parent accounts, but since parent accounts can control game access for child accounts that might not be as private?
