Is it foss and can i host my own instance if not its obviously an atfempts to centralise and monopolise the fediverse and im not interested in that.

Every news source is biased the only way to actually know anything is to use critical thinking and read all sides from multiple different sources. Blocking a partuclur side is choosing to be willfully ignorant

I use manjaro xfce but i would reccommend fedora or mint if ya starting out. Fedora seems to just work most of the time hardware wise.
