  • Use a custom DNS and/or hosts file. You can cut them off the grid by blocking data upload to SSP. Don't install many apps, for games that can be played offline, play them offline. EDIT: AdGuard DNS doesn't block the 1st URL (o.isx...) in the page. 2nd URL is blocked.

  • Correct me if I am wrong: If you use steam console to download an old version of the game, regardless of currently installed version, steam downloads the whole game. Let's say I was on v2.1, the game received an update v2.2 and I downloaded it normally through Steam, this downloads only the difference between 2.1 and 2.2. Let's say I have 2.2, the game doesn't use the "betas" feature and I want to downgrade the game. Steam ignores the current 2.2 install and downloads 2.1 in its entirety.

  • 2013 Macbook, that is still getting security updates and is totally usable

How? My 2015 MBA doesn't get any updates afaik but it's not on latest supported OS so I'm not sure. Did you use OCLP?

  • Nvidia is gold standard for AI stuff, that's why it was so heavily recommended. If training is not a major concern, then AMD is the obvious choice for Linux gaming (unless you need HDMI 2.1).
