  • A printer that is older than me, Samsung SCX-4216F. It supports fax, maybe I should set it up some time. A satellite receiver that supports only SD streams. Olympics are streamed from 2 channels and one of them does not have SD variant so we have to stream games on that channel from Internet.

  • We have an Android TV stick that show posters of films available for purchase below applications and that's the only ad. The stick also somehow blocks Google banner ads on all apps. The catch's bad responsiveness and unstable comnectivity. And no OS updates for over a year. https://www.mi.com/global/product/mi-tv-stick/specs

  • MS Office works oob on Crossover and could work on Wine with a bit of tinkering. Research if your college uses examination software. If they do you are either forced to either using Windows / Mac or gambling your academic carrier via running the software on Wine.

  • Librewolf enables fingerprinting preventation which makes some websites / fields very laggy. I can disable it but what's the point of using Librewolf then? Also using FF is not paranoid, it is the only free software I installed that sticked with my family. Tor has a wholly different purpose.

  • I do. I have Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock on PS3. Console has 300ms latency which is a dealbreaker while RPCS3 on laptop or even just Clone Hero has much lower latency. If you have multiple consoles, emulation can bring all your consoles into one. I also have H.A.W.X 2 which drops frames on PS3, maybe emulated could run better. I want to freely approach frigates from low altitude without factoring in FPS drop when I blow them up :)

  • Possible. Disable bitlocker if you have it enabled, create a recovery disc from Windows, pass through your recovery disc and SSD to QEMU, boot from the recovery disc, run automatic startup repair. Ensure you use the correct firmware type in QEMU: If your SSD is GPT then use UEFI. If it is MBR then use BIOS.

  • I'm on a different level, I didn't know the term incel, I had to look it up. Whether I am (an?) incel is debatable (EDIT: The term is more specific than I thought so the answer is no) but this thread definitely goes straight to mt collection. This is the type of content that makes me love Lemmy.
