This sounds like the "don't make everything political" rhetoric which is naively hilarious. If you're encouraging moderation for the sake of mental well-being, sure - but that is just that, like many other things.
Information is a well; people will come and go. How much any one person consumes, like food and drink, is their choice regardless of consequence. You can argue diet, drugs, alcohol, entertainment, masturbation all the same.
Personally, I'd rather take on the mental burden of being informed over being as clueless as some. Ignorance leads to many problems, higher costs when you're not much of a problem solver etc.
You really have to be an asshole to live in Texas at this point lol abort Texas, abort the south. I want them to succeed in secession for demonstrative value.
There are few 'viable solutions' that readily present themselves to the concerned voter, so little gets resolved and issues continue to grow and morph. If you look at things through a state by state lens it becomes more cloudy because state laws will affect more immediate issues and can very likely differ. It's hard to command fifty entities in one direction, all worried about various concerns in various directions. Having faith in this Rube Goldberg machine def makes for a bad time, so apathy and hope suffice. System working as intended, do not investigate.
Agreed. I don't fear the thicc morons assembling on a large enough scale or being organized enough. These are Walmart shoppers who vacation in Florida every year for the most part, they're not going to be committed, adaptive, intelligent, resilient. They're not loyal enough to any one cause by nature, most are just vocal karen types over a bunch of superficial bs.
Will/can some of them be a problem? For sure, but... Yeah
until companies aren't incentivized by capitalist greed this will continue happening
You'd think that it would be in the best interest of capitalism to keep everybody alive to maximize profits through the course of each victim's life, but the shortsighted goal of lining a couple pockets and avoiding disruption was chosen. A predictably lazy approach.. and why we will deal with asbestos, cigarettes, pesticide, pfas damages for years to come
Would love to see some corporate heads roll, fuck these disgusting pieces of shit. I hope their business practices and families suffer for years to come! May the winds of climate change wipe out their children before them, in their lifetime.
it's hard to do more than nod and say "that makes sense" when we've been trending this way for awhile and it's been acceptable by so many to question or ignore the warnings
Blame elders, blame leaders, blame people of faith. Blind faith has no business in a world full of consequence
Climate-related deaths might be the blessing that school shootings need to take some heat off em in the media
seemingly half of all independent businesses in the burbs are landscaping, and landscaping is to HOAs what Christianity is to cunts everywhere, so ... It makes sense
This is where I feel like an absolute alien
