I mean, the Kia EV9 seems pretty big. But I think you mean Ford Excursion big.... and man.... GM has a hummer of a truck for you. Also, no one is buying it.

I ended up with two. The OG which is now a media center more or less and the OLED which I use off and on depending on the game.

I've just started using Fedora recently and have been pretty impressed but I also ran into some of these annoying issues to start with. I wrote a super quick and dirty first run script to automate the things I use but maybe others will find it useful. I just added it to my GitHub if anyone wants to use it as well. I am not responsible if it wrecks your system.

Why do you say it isn't a proper substitute? What features is it missing?

I mean, the nuance you describe is notable. But I sit on the couch, using controllers and play the same games you would on ps or Xbox. Both of which run variants of Linux/windows.

K... This is just not true. Plenty of AAA games run well on the steam deck. Currently installed on mine, RDR2, cyberpunk 2077, horizon zero dawn, Forza horizon, uncharted legacy of thieves, the last of us, and for funsies I just started another fallout 4 playthrough. I'm sure others have lots of other AAA games they play on their deck.

If it's the exclusives you're missing, like Gran Turismo or something, I think that's a different argument.

You may not realize it but you're kind of making my point. You have prior experience. An Ondsel getting started video is really needed. Especially since they want to charge for it.

The thing I'm struggling with is finding beginner videos for ondsel. The ui is super different, so freecad videos don't help much. Any suggestions?

I didn't realize pip and venv didn't work... that's a pretty big deal breaker for a lot of people, myself included.
