I daresay that Kevin O'Leary on Shark Tank makes a good case for one existing.

Good point on the basement but the overall concern seems to be that the cost of real estate (including renting) is getting so it's not feasible for most people to move along from just renting (if they choose to).

With rent you're just paying to live there. With a mortgage every payment means you own more of the place (equity). If you have payed off the mortgage or didn't need one then you have equity that you can use for last-ditch funding.

When I did polls over the phone I dreaded the political polls the most because they were 30 minutes long and if they didn't get finished then I got into trouble. Generally, 10-15 minutes is when I would be asked how much longer it would take. I didn't want to tell the (full) truth so I would say that it would be a bit longer. Sometimes I would tell the full amount. A few people would be okay with it but some chewed me out.

The Jiffy Lube ones were only 5 minutes.

For cups (for cool liquids), I use aluminum since it cools my drink down quickly with just a small amount of ice.

My mother-in-law did a phone call and I chewed her out. I couldn't believe it but then she complained about "kids these days" being on their phone at a restaurant and I pointed out that she was holding her phone and that we were at a restaurant. She shut up.

They try to go into a relay center for the deaf and hard of hearing and they will be in so much trouble that they can not conceive. They would have to answer to Congress and a very large lobby who will take this very personally, no matter what law they try to present. Even the President of the United States can't enter without consent. Law enforcement gets turned away, even with a warrant. I used to be a relay center operator and they were very serious.
