  • Your Account on lemmy.world only works on lemmy world. Think about it like Email. You have an outlook.com address, so you can not sign in into google.com, but you can send mails to them and receive theirs 😋

  • If you use private IP adresses, then no traffic will leave your internal network. Those IPs are not routed trough the Internet 😊

So no one can access your nextcloud outside your network

  • I use Liftoff and I don't find it buggy. You need to be aware that most clients are under heavy development 🤔

  • I do once a day rsync my data to another drive. I can restore a file, if I accidentaly deleted it. Important stuff goes encrypted via rclone additionaly to a hetzner storagebox.

  • If yubikeys are too expensive for you, you can use the security keys. Webauthn is supported, but not TOTP. You could use vaultwarden or bitwarden for TOTP and the Security key as 2FA for bitwarden 🤔

  • I have 2 yubikeys, one for backup in a safe place. If a site only allows one key, like PayPal, I use another method. Yubikeys are for 2FA on my nextcloud and bitwarden mainly. Both have backupkeys in case you lose them. Those keys are printed out and stored in a safe place too.

  • In my opinion the best 2FA is a yubikey. They have an TOPT app too, but I prefer webauthn.

  • Seems a better alternative frontend than invidious. I will check that. Thanks for sharing 🌞

  • Yes the whole conversation tree with new comment marked would be a good idea 🤔

  • We are here to help :)

I use my own docker-compose.yml. I made modifications, but it is very easy to use. Replace YOUR.URL.HERE with your URL for searx and enter a path for the configuration mounting. Now start the stack and wait a few seconds, while the config files are generated. Now stop the stack and remove the # in the two lines 30 & 31 (CAP DROP / ALL) in the docker-compose.yml for security reasons.

Make your changes to the configuration files now (backup recommended), before you start the stack again. Start trhe stack and try it out 😊

My docker-compose.yml is on my Cryptpad. You can make a copy, but the link won´t be valid forever.

  • Yes once configurated it is very good ☺️

  • I use a selfhosted searxng. There are many public instances too. Take a look at GitHub

  • A nuc is far more better than a Raspberry Pi. A Pi sure can do some things, but once you start, you will want more 🌞

  • Okay thanks, but if you use more instances / accounts, then it would be useful to sort this list. Right now you can only remove or add.

    Thanks for the workaround 😊

  • It offers a good bookmark manager. Easy to create folders and subfolders, drag n drop works smoothly and I think Vivaldi is the best chromebased briwser. I use it on all devices, Windows, Fedora and Android 😊

  • I have done it this way with Vivaldi:

    Sync to Browser

Reorganize in the Browser via drag n drop

    Sync back again

It took about 1,5 hours but you only do this once.
