Disappointing but understandable since the reports are saying other government officials, including his foreign secretary had to step in. I'm sure the argument that his personal reputation or issues with Trump destroying the Colombian economy was compelling enough
So OP edited his post to be about being 'user-centric' and not 'user friendly.' There's a huge difference between being easy to use, even for the technologically illiterate, and being good for users so I wouldn't disagree with a lot of what's been said in this thread
What?? The last bullet point is literally the subject of the thread you're on. The picture in this post is from Musk campaigning for the AfD which is a far-right German party that is well-known for being antisemitic. I can't tell if you're utterly clueless or trolling right now.
Your post history shows that you're an unrepentant genocide denier, so don't try to pretend that you care what the people of Gaza want. Especially not when your original comment boils down to 'they're all Arabs, they should live with the other Arabs.' Which is a much loved, but entirely bullshit Zionist argument that has been used to dispossess the Palestinians for decades.
Whether or not it was emphasised by him, Yasser Arafat did not invent Palestinian culture. He did not invent eating musakhan, singing ataaba songs at weddings or any of the children's games that Palestinian children play.
To believe that Palestinians have no distinct identity, you would have to ignore the fact that Palestinians are a distinct group within the neighbouring countries that they live in. Families who have lived for 2-3 generations in places like Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon continue to view themselves as Palestinian, and continue to maintain cultural traditions particular to the place they were expelled from.
It might be misleading to say they were the first out of Africa
I didn't say they immediately arrived in Australia, a place they couldn't possibly know existed. But it's not disputable that Aboriginals were in the first wave of humanity to leave Africa.
They might have been able to walk due to lower sea levels at the time.
Yes, the sea levels were lower and they may have walked for some of their journey. But they did have to sail across the open ocean and did have to construct vessels that would allow them to do that. Let's not denigrate the technological achievements of these people by saying they just walked it.
Homo sapiens (in this case aboriginals) hunted mega fauna to extinction
What's really misleading is to just say they hunted the megafauna to extinction when they lived with them for 17,000 years. If you also compare that to the few hundred years it took for the American bison to almost be eradicated after Europeans arrived in North America, you'll see that these people were still great stewards of the land. Even if, like all Homo Sapiens, they spell disaster for other species around them.
Ignoring the genocidal premise of forcibly moving Palestinians off their land after Israel just razed their houses, Jordan is a tiny country of 10million people who have their own cultural identity beyond being Arab or close to Palestine.
They are already home to 3 million refugees, most of whom are Palestinian, and 1 million are Iraqis. To ask them to take on anyone else is beyond a joke. Especially when Israel and the US have spent decades finding new ways to destabilise its neighbours and make them flee into its borders. Jordan is also not a rich country. Wealthier countries need to step up, and that should include the US given its culpability in this genocide. But the US has just elected a man-baby who will bemoan its international responsibilities for the next 4 years so there's no chance of that happening.
[...] Men in boats arrived on the edge of the known world to embark on that new experiment. And just like astronauts arriving on Mars those first settlers would be confronted with a different and strange world, full of danger, adventure and potential.
The aboriginal people were the first of Homo Sapiens to leave Africa. They used the rudimentary technology of the era to sail to Australia. When they landed in Australia the ecosystem was even more more dangerous than it is now. They had to survive alongside giant reptiles and other megafauna for 17,000 years. That's in addition to everything else on that continent trying to kill you.
If anyone in Australia is a pioneering adventurer to be celebrated, it's these people. Yet the colonialist mind is so brain dead that they'll denigrate these people and their culture, while celebrating the arrival of a group of psychopathic plunderers who arrived at a land that was already settled by humans.
They know she's popular enough to win a general election one day, just as they knew Bernie was. But the moderate crowd would rather lose with one of their own than win with a progressive
As someone else pointed out, the premise of this question is extremely faulty. Being user-friendly is one of the main advantages of proprietary software because they have teams of researchers and designers making sure that things are as frictionless as possible for the user. This isn't to say they don't use dark-patterns or engage in anti-consumer practices, but I'm certain that if you did a random sampling of F-Droid and the Play Store, you would find a lot more polished and user-friendly software on the Play Store than the FOSS apps on F-Droid
If I 'accidentally' did a Nazi salute, as a non-Nazi I would spend the next week:
Making clear that I do not agree with Nazis
Rejecting praise from Nazis calling me 'based'
Not tweeting out a series of Nazi puns
Not campaigning for a far-right anti-semitic German party
If I did the opposite of all these things it would be because I want everyone to know it was no accident. Anyone still saying 'who knows what he means by any of it' after this week is either a lying POS, bought and paid for, or just thick as a cement brick
Came here to see discussions about the truly insane case mentioned in the article. Actually found an entire comment section full of 'not all men' vs 'basically all men' threads
The difficulty is asking people to get started with this. People want to get to work/navigate as quickly as possible to where they need to be, they don't want to be figuring it out. Social media can be janky and you'll be patient, but if you're late for something because you're struggling to adjust to an app you're more likely to go back to Google/Apple Maps
Kanye still gets features and collaborators despite his Nazi turn. All the major rappers associated with him chose silence over condemnation. Biggie would most likely make the same choice with Diddy
Disappointing but understandable since the reports are saying other government officials, including his foreign secretary had to step in. I'm sure the argument that his personal reputation or issues with Trump destroying the Colombian economy was compelling enough
