  • Long ago I started my city when there was nothing.

I did poor job, but I mapped streets in parts of the city I lived until then.

One or two years ago people fixed my mistakes and mapped the rest of the city. I consider it huge success, so just start and others will come and add more details.

It was great feeling, calming and fun. And addicting.

Haven't done anything recent since all locations I am familiar with are now mapped to great details.

  • It's not like other keyboards are better, I know why they are pissed and while it is annoying, Thinkpads X, T and P series are great linix machines.

What I don't like is soldered RAM. I got T490 after almost a decade of using X220, because it, at least, had one ram slot. Now I am rocking 48GB of ram in reliable hardware which os completely supported in linux (except bt having some issues, but still).

  • Well... not really. I like them, but flatpak has sandbox and much wider scope. Flatpak also has official repository you can trust, while app images are usually created by random people. Use only ones from original developers or sources you trust.

We still have problems to solve.

  • Theoretically I like the idea but in practice too many bugs, too much disk space, not really clear how to change font size for example... and after all that, some apps are not in flatpak. It is not ready for me yet.

  • Marco didn't like him, but he also didn't want to go to Williams where he would have been much safer.

But he chose shorter path to top car, and lost. Sad, but at least he had a choice.

And RB can test two "new" drivers for the price of one. This will be break it or make it for Ric too. I think Ric or Check will be in RB+AT next year, but not both.

We all new this since Ric got back to RB.

  • I never understood why people think journalism was better before.

Now we just have internet to fact check and communicate with friends about it, so it is just exposed. I know it is unreliable, but much better than anything 50+ years ago.

  • I know people say Brother, and I believe they are right. But around me Brother is just not that popular and didn't want to risk it for future support, so I got cheapest wifi enabled HP laser available here (M111W), works without problem on Gentoo, Mint and Android. Hardest to setup was gf's Windows. Works over USB cable and wifi.

I might regret it later, but currently it is working. If I could try out Brother, I would. Also their website is not clear about specifications of cheap models, so I decided agains it.

And don't take injets, those are awful.

  • If they have access to some library with those books they are ok.

I doubt they just used pirated book to train their AI and than publishing it without having non pirated paper trail, it is not that hard.

    But let's see.

The only a problem here is how have they accessed the books, they don't share copyrighted material to others. But I don't think anyone should be held guilty for reading a book, so I hold the same stance for AI.

If you don't want people to read your book, just don't publish it.

  • For international politics I watch and read news sources from India, they are somewhat biased against Pakistan (thou, I believe, even there are truthful) and for everything else looks quite neutral.

I don't think there is any reliable source for US politics, too much interests are in play and even if someone is truthful and reliable I don't know how to assess that. But I do take a look at Democracy Now since they don't sound sensationalistic.
