  • Hope I don’t get dragged through the coals but I have to offer a differing opinion for people.

I really didn’t enjoy playing this game. The gun combat felt extremely limited with only two weapons to swap between on the fly.

The abilities were fun and useful and maybe the best part of the gameplay, but not enough to redeem it for me.

The story started out great but really falls flat and felt extremely unsatisfying at the end, to the point I ran around for a few hours thinking I had missed something, until eventually looking it up online to confirm, that yes, that IS where they decided to end it. Felt very incomplete like we were waiting on an extra DLC that never came. (I played the original dlcs, to be clear)

The difficulty spikes were frustrating af. You’d be flying through the game no problem and then suddenly encounter a room where the enemies just took 90% of your health like perfect aim snipers from across the room.

The defensive abilities were key to survival, but it still suffered these issues if you just mistimed a single button press.

I loved the setting but hated the map and backtracking. Seriously, worst map of any game I’ve played recently. If your game is going for 3d Metroid, then at least make the map fucking clear.

Eventually a lot of the areas look a ton alike…

Some of the unkillable enemies were just cheesy.

Figuring out the boss fights sometimes felt more annoying than fun, one particular dlc enemy I think, involving lights was super annoying.

The Maze was one of the best things I’ve ever played/experienced, though. Unfortunately that high of a bar just made the rest of the lows for me feel lower.

All in all I’m glad lots of people like or love it, but for me I’d give it a solid 5 out of 10.

So just a heads up, it may not be for everyone.

  • The article you didn’t read sources straight from the one responsible.

In a statement hours after the incident, Bowman said he activated the alarm by mistake after having come across a door that was typically open for votes but would not open that day.

“I am embarrassed to admit that I activated the fire alarm, mistakenly thinking it would open the door. I regret this and sincerely apologize for any confusion this caused,” he said at the time.

  • No, but while doing some tours in Iowa, he instead implied that all Muslims are terrorists, and that we would need to lock up our immigration from their countries and deport any immigrants he didn’t like at colleges here to prevent an attack on US soil from terrorist Muslims.

Just kidding, that was Trump a few hours ago. He also praised the Iran-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah as “very smart.”

  • A bunch of my tribe was missing, we don’t have a super popular surname but there’s a lot of us, regardless.

It looked like it was mostly the older older folks who still have landlines? Because we haven’t had one for so long I can’t even remember

  • It’s so weird how you could have just said “you know what bro, that makes sense.” and grown a bit from the experience, but instead you thought “yOU tAkE tHInGs too LiTeraL” was an appropriate response.

Fuck me if I’ll ever understand these types of people.

  • …it was a tongue-in-cheek reply to the dismissive retort of the person I was responding to…the tone of which was meant to convey the ridiculousness of the statement, which they heavily edited to be far less sexist, to their credit.

Also how would you like me to not recognize the disparity imparted by their “genitals” in a comment discussing how the people with openings for genitals were allowed special treatment at this time, and less so at later times. It’s literally the entire context.

  • For sure.

It’s just once they got back home they still weren’t allowed to vote, grow professional careers, get equal access to higher education, own their own property while with a man because of coverture laws, be allowed to play in athletic sports or form leagues, hold any real position of political power, get a divorce easily to escape abusive relationships, allowed to be legally raped by their spouses as much as he wanted while having zero reproductive rights, etc.

Just some give and take for that one day for some unlucky dudes, as you put it.

  • Naw it’s a sweet love story with a standard loss ending.

Rose's motivations are primarily driven by her desire for freedom and independence. She feels trapped by her wealthy but oppressive family and her engagement to the controlling and wealthy Caledon.

She’s looking for a way to escape her life and find her own identity. This leads her to a deep emotional connection with Jack. Her motivations are centered on breaking free from the constraints of her upper-class background and pursuing a life of her own choosing, which ultimately culminates in her decisions and actions throughout the film. He represents everything she’s yearned for.

Plus he’s really hot, so that helps.

  • Lederman explains in the book why he gave the Higgs boson the nickname "The God Particle":

This boson is so central to the state of physics today, so crucial to our final understanding of the structure of matter, yet so elusive, that I have given it a nickname: the God Particle. Why God Particle? Two reasons. One, the publisher wouldn't let us call it the Goddamn Particle, though that might be a more appropriate title, given its villainous nature and the expense it is causing. And two, there is a connection, of sorts, to another book, a much older one...

MythBusters: Confirmed. Media of the time did indeed force the name.

  • Yo, didn’t they just find some asteroid that scans too heavy for current elements?

Seems like things are starting to heat up in this area all of a sudden..

..And I don’t mean this at all, but between all of this prep work setting up us discovering new elements, plus the sudden influx of alien talk to congress, etc…like…if I was a conspiracy theorist my head would be spinning right now with the possibilities!
