  • This is wrong. The iPhone must comply with Power Delivery at 100W and must use USB-C. It's the EU reglementation. Now,the trick can be they don't follow this outside the EU.

  • People complaining about rich people not donating more are hypocrites

This is the trap of marketing and communication. They donate for the image, to hide the image of the rich disconnected from the reality of the poorer.

I'm all for the rich to contribute to pay and help the people, but not through charity. The rich must be taxed, and these taxes serves to help with government jobs, so everyone has a word to say. With taxes, we help the poorer, we help in case of natural disasters, we found the researches, we give access to healthcare, we... With charity, we help the riches to keep an oppressive system of power over the poorest. It's a system to keep the huge gap between rich and poor.

  • I copy paste one of my comments about charity:

It creates a subordination to the rich. The poor will be dependant of the charity to live.

The charities should not exist at all. It's neoliberal to privatize everything so the state is smaller and smaller and create a direct control of the masses by the rich. This system is even more perverse. The rich can make the own rules and own regulations to give even more control on the poorer.

The work done by the charity must be done by the state itself with it's own employees. It finances these programs through the taxes and regulations. The state must be strong. You have your word here what's not the case with charity.

The best thing is to remunerate the work at its fair value. The workers thus recover the majority of the money earned by the company. This also solves the problem of profits and dividends. They are used to pay workers properly, which is not the case today.

  • No problems! People like to view the swiss policy with drugs as an example. Sure the implementation works, Bern was the first city with a protected space for drug use. It was a game changer and progressive for the time.

But, the reality is more mixed. The intentions were not so nice. People matter but the image of the country and the streets was another part. After the adoption of this policy, the city of Bern became a left city. Zürich has a similar path. It was not a leftist thing.

It workwd for the last 30 years. But, Switzerland has to be careful and work on it to keep the leadership it acquired.

  • With the last court rule in Norway, Meta must ask your consent otherwise they can't do anything. This is a huge issue for them on the fediverse. They must ask the consent of each European user what is nearly impossible. One solution is to filter were the instances are hosted. They don't interact with the instance hosted in Europe. But, it doesn't resolve the issue looking how the fediverse work. This is why Europe won't see Thread.

To prevent, instances should migrate to be hosted in Europe. The second is to change how fediverse works. It's fondamental to add options to ban some instances not just defederate. It's the tactic of putting meta and instance that federate with them on the side.

This reminds me of the issue with some image content we spoke at the beginning of the week. I saw it like astroturfing. I would be surprised if this federation of Thread has a similar end.

  • Switzerland is concervative in some part of the country. It's not like the US but the country has a division based on countryside and cities, cities being more liberal.

What made a change in the policy is that Switzerland had at the end of the 80's the first and the second most important open scene in Europe. People came from all the country and even further to use drugs mostly opioid. People were using next to the Federal palace, home of the Parlament.

They had to do something and decided to have a liberal, progressive policy to help people instead of criminalizing.

But, we have multiple parameters to take in account. The first, it was at the end of the 80's and the beginning of the 90's. The population composition was different at this time. If you were not swiss, the chance to be deported was high.

Another factor is cultural. In the swiss culture, powerty doesn't exist. People are wealthy. The really is different so Switzerland literally hides the poor and powerty. It's similar to put everything under the carpet so everything is nice from the outside. The fact to see in parks and the nearby streets drug users day and night wasn't a good think. The liberal policy match's the fact that powerty has to be hidden.

It's not only to be good or to do something good. Switzerland did horrible thing for the same reason like deporting children of poor families or single parent.

If people have an interest on the topic, I share two albums on imgur to see how it looked like. Both are NSFW!

Open scene in Bern, it was the second most important in Europe.

The open scene in Zürich was the most important across Europe.

  • Switzerland has this policy since the beginning of the 90's with drug users. The quality of life improved to a level that retirement homes prescribe opioid to some resident.

It's an amazing win-win-win situation. The overdose rate plunged with people being in a good health condition and finding jobs despite their addiction. The life expectancy of this group is sky rocketing. It costs a fraction to the society as people are contributing to the society itself.

  • And so began the war for water and food. It will not be a war with only guns and classical battles. It's about power, influence, treasons, etc.

A war were the basic human has nothing to say and will be neglected. It's about the upper level, the corporations and the capital will dictate who has access to food and water.

It's time to stop the infinite grow of the capital which isn't sustainable on earth and elsewhere. This will make possible to take care of our environment and the planet to feed everyone correctly.

  • Hashtags are a thing but you need to find people to follow who are boosting others post.

The most important is to find groups about your interests. Groups are accounts to follow who will boost every post mentioning it. This will help you to find interesting account to follow.

Boosting is important has it's how people discover new content.
