  • They called me. The area they started feeling squirrelly in is pretty much my "backyard". If they were in serious trouble, they would have contacted S&R, but in a rush I can get to any peak relatively quickly. You'd be surprised with how fast someone can recover from exposure/minor heat stroke with just some Gatorade, shade and water poured on them

Might not be the recommended method, but it has a 2/2 record for me so far ha

  • Twice I've had to find people I know heatstroking out on trails in the mountains. I found them due to dropping pins and being able to follow the trails they've followed on Strava or Google Maps or whatever.

They probably would have went up there without trails being on Google maps, but I probably would have been bushwhacking to find them if I couldn't see the trail networks to know where they went.

I vote against removing trail maps. Hurts the good just as much, or more, than it tries to mitigate the bad.

  • yeah. turns out animal rehibition isn't very profitable and I wasn't really expecting to end up in a responsible/respectable life. We bought what we could afford.

I take my electric skateboard to school when I can(weather permitting) , but I will choose shitty emissions for a 10-50 mile drive to save an animals life over letting it die or live in a cage. and honestly, I am only going to school to get money to expand the rehabilitation.. I will try to get a vehicle that is better for the environment when I can afford it though.

  • Damn, someone got you with a downvote within 3 minutes of posting. That shit was quick, didn't think the Fediverse got down like that. Wasn't me for the record

But, you don't believe the "American Culture" is popular? I'd be real interested in a counter argument to the fact it is popular. It's pretty easy to show that American media and politics are pretty discussed or enjoyed around the world.

And I'm not sure what you mean about us appropriating from migrants. Do you consider every American a migrant due to the fact that America is so young?

  • I actually agree with you.

I know people will say "we were casual about it and now look where we are".. but looking at this title, I can already see the debatable points before going into the argue... which is going to create that debate, since the majority of people aren't going to go into the article anyway.

I could be wrong and there is no way to prove or disprove my belief, but I think humanity would be more united working towards a solution if the majority of media stuck to purely facts. Ultimately, it should have the same content and less divisiveness over projected opinions.

  • Why not? American culture and linguistics are extremely popular around the world.

Maybe since modern America is so young, people dont associate it to fantasy?

Alternatively, Native American accents aren't uncommon in fantasy I feel like

  • Yeah I had a buddy who bought a PC that had a BIOS password on it(which now I realize was probably stolen.. but it was like a big box store 2010 desktop which is weird to steal) I was surprised with how easy it was to bypass that, and gain access with a flash drive and 3 minutes of googling
