  • You're forgetting that Hexbear and lemmy.ml tend to support Russia and the CCP, both authoritarian dictatorships with Russia being openly Fascist. This is because of the general "America bad" viewpoint on these instances.

While the US has its... problems, that doesn't mean their geopolitical rivals are then magically all-benevolent. Multiple sides in conflict can be shitty, and ignoring the genocides that Russia and China have been committing over the past few years is unacceptable.

  • Please don't rewrite history: Always online -> Microsoft started that trend with GFWL et al

You apparently don't understand what "push and normalize" means.

They never claimed that Ubisoft started these, they only claimed that Ubisoft was a major factor in these practices being popularized

  • Tbf, Hexbear, Lemmygrad, and Lemmy.ml all promote hate via being tankies. And the latter two tangentially support fascism because they support Russia in the current war, because 'Murikkka bad and therefore anyone that hates them must then be good

  • OP is peddling misinformation because it's not true that "Proton took the stance" of anything.

Except Proton's official Mastodon account made another post afterwords doubling down on the CEO's comments. They ended up taking down the post due to getting a ton of backlash
