  • Funny you should post this, I was just struggling with the same issue. However I have my default sort as "New" and the content in the community sorts as "Active". It's just completely ignoring the default sort.

Ideally it would be nice to have a default sort, then the ability to override the sort by community.

  • As any Econ 101 student can tell you, rent control is bad. This is because rent control is a price control, and price controls artificially distort well-functioning markets, resulting in a mismatch between supply and demand and the creation of the dreaded deadweight loss triangle all budding economist learn about.

Rent control appears to help affordability in the short run for current tenants, but in the long-run decreases affordability, fuels gentrification, and creates negative externalities on the surrounding neighborhood.

  • I've seen people ask for food, clothing, and household items on both Freecycle and Facebook Buy Nothing. I don't monitor Craigslist or Nextdoor but it still shows that people ask for (and get) things they need for free online.

There's no need to steal other than a lack of morals.

  • There's tons of stuff given away for free in the U.S. There's sites like Craigslist, Freecycle, and Buy Nothing on Facebook. You can ask for food, you'll get food. You can ask for toothpaste and you'll get toothpaste.
