Wildtangent games?

Jump
  • I know the Fate games are available on GOG and therefore would be on gog-games. Considering the nature of their games, it might be difficult to find them, so you might have to comb through the available sites. Maybe also check archive.org?

  • Unless the m4a files are ALAC-encoded, you shouldn't do it. m4a files tend to hold AAC-encoded audio, which is a lossy format. Opus is also a lossy format, so you'll only lose sound quality, basically. You should only convert lossless to lossy.

  • Non-exhaustive and just off the top of my head:

    1. C'est comme ça by Paramore
    2. C'est une belle journée by Myléne Farmer
    3. Manatsu no Tooriame by Utada Hikaru
    4. Crash by Charli XCX
    5. Hounds of Love by Kate Bush
    6. Send My Love to John by Rina Sawayama
    7. Today the Sun's on Us by Sophie Ellis-Bextor

Not the most... uplifting set of songs, but pretty representative. Just enough hope to keep things going, though.

Also, love that I have two French titles but only one song actually in French.

EDIT: added links for the masochistic.

  • Perika St. John's Wort (or any kind of standardized StJW formula) isolates the antidepressant part of the herb and makes sure you get the same dose in every pill. It's nonprescription as an herbal supplement, but it's one of the few herbal supplements with scientific backing.

  • No clue why it isn't on there, but bsnes is available as part of higan, ares (kinda?), standalone, or as one of many bsnes RetroArch cores (bsnes-mercury is generally the most recommended from my experience).

ETA: If you're not into RetroArch, I'd highly recommend ares.

  • Your threat model is unclear to me, so I'm a little confused as to why you don't just use Firefox across all platforms. You could use multi-container support to stay signed in on certain things and clear cookies in others iirc.

  • A disorder also doesn't really "exist" if it's not actually causing distress or... well, disorder. Mental disorders are basically cultural constructs in that what is disruptive in one culture isn't necessarily disruptive in another. "ADHD" in one culture may be "wow, she's really good at hunting" in another. A schizophrenic person in one culture may be a cleric in another.

  • Last I heard, which was admittedly a long time ago, Pale Moon was dangerously out of date with respect to security and web standards and not much more than a meme. I feel like I remember a significant change in leadership relatively recently, but has Pale Moon actually become a viable alternative?

Beyond that, WebKit is still a thing. Ladybird is too though it's still quite a ways from primetime.

  • The dog mask people are generally not furries. They're called pups, and you're actually right that pup play is a BDSM thing. The whole acting like a dog thing is more for dehumanization than anything else.

Furries are people who enjoy anthropomorphic animals for... well, a variety of reasons. Fursuits are extremely uncommon because they're expensive as fuck, difficult to clean, easily damaged, etc. Most furries just come up with fursonas (generally online animal personas) and make art.

I know more about this than I otherwise would because I have friends who are pups and others who are furries.

  • These entities all have similar names and share similar origins, having been started by the founders of Open Collective and incubated in the Open Collective ecosystem, but are independent nonprofits with their own budget, accounts, staff, board of directors, and mission. They each have a separate commercial relationship with Open Collective. [emphasis not mine]

Open Collective, Inc. seemingly has nothing to do with OCF shutting down and neither entity has claimed anything to the contrary.
