If I break an arm, and I go to the hospital, and there's not much that's done aside from a cast, and some PT at the end, I pay $0.
Now, what does that mean?
We have had our insurance for a long time, and as we pay our monthly premiums, a little money goes into an account called an FSA. This pays some of the co-pay, deductibles, etc. in the background for us.
What happens if I get cancer and need to have some care for 7 years? Eventually that FSA runs out. Every insurance has a deductible that you pay before they start paying for everything. So we might have to pay $5k out of pocket annually and then insurance pays the rest.
What if I need to travel to another city to talk to a specialist? There might be airfare, hotels, food, etc. that we pay that is "part of the treatment" but not paid for by insurance.
What if I need medication? Might be $25 every trip to the pharmacy. Might be $300. Depends on the medication, how new it is, are there cheaper alternatives?
What if I get sick long enough where I lose my job? I might lose my insurance as well, and then have to apply for government assistance, that might make other medical bills different.
Now, what am I protecting myself from? I don't think anyone is going to come arrest me for what I do. I don't think any big companies are going to leak my data and embarrass me. I don't think anyone is going to compromise my bank and drain my funds.
I am protecting myself from being influenced by advertising and targeted news.
I am protecting my thoughts and feelings, because in the end, that's all that really matters. I don't want to need the next toy, or jump on a bandwagon. I don't want to see advertising and I don't want a carefully crafted worldview pushed on me.
That's a bit misleading, they did receive a request, and a search warrant was attempted, but since the data they wanted didn't exist, nothing happened.
Good link, but just the word yes didn't accurately answer the question.
It really depends, non-violent felonies often get to sit free until a specified date to report to prison. They are usually allowed some time free to settle their affairs and prepare.
Heck, I personally know someone who only had to report to prison on the weekends, free during the week so they could work and keep their life from completely falling apart, but had to report every weekend to lockup.
Because some of the evidence collected was from his time in office.
It's a huge legal quagmire because part of what makes this case a felony, was the cover up was part of a conspiracy, and full of financial fraud. Since some of that conspiracy and financial misconduct was done during his time in office, then the supreme court ruling needs to be considered as part of this case.
It's just another awful result of the stupid SCOTUS decision.
If I'm reading this correctly, we now have to wait until the dog is 6 months old to import.
I wonder how this is going to impact working dogs, military dogs, and police dogs. They're often imported from other countries. This means we're probably going to pay more for adult, trained dogs, and have less access to puppies with the intent on training them over here.
It uses the spoiler tags in a way that a lot of mobile apps don't recognize, and it ends up looking really ugly. It also shows as a comment on every news article, so it makes it look like there's the start of a discussion when there isn't any.
I don't know how accurate it is, but I do find comment bots kind of annoying in general.
I worked retail for several years. After a while it just becomes normal. It helps a LOT if you're actually walking around and not just standing in one spot.
I can walk for a few miles without sitting down without being uncomfortable at all, but standing in one spot for 15 minutes bothers my feet.
I find them frustrating, because they are slow. There's no reason why they couldn't put a decent processor in them and have them actually function properly. Half the time I press a button and then end up hitting it again cause I don't know if it read the first press, since the feedback it so slow.
The Lowes near me just recently switched to newer self-serve kiosks that actually work, it's amazing how much better an experience it is.
I don't contribute to the FSA, that's an automatic part of my health insurance.
Some people contribute separately to an FSA or an HSA depending on their insurance, but that's not an option for my situation.
