  • If there's a single copy of a comic book that sells for $1,000 that doesn't mean you can sell 100 of them for that price.

If there's a couple dozen shares of a stock selling for $15, that doesn't mean there's enough buyers to pay for a million of them at that price.

If trump dumps all his shares, the stock price will crash, and eventually there won't be ANYONE to buy the stock and the price will be effectively $0.

  • A bunch of that paper is over my head - but they do seem to say that the change is sustained (with or without more doses???) EDIT: single dose has lasting effects /EDIT and that there may be encouragement for increases in social engagement for ASD humans with a therapeutic LSD dose.

  • Someone has to buy the stock that he sells. It doesn't magically turn into money cause it has a listed value that day.

Sure, there can be some money laundering and foreign "investments" but the SEC really doesn't like stock manipulation.

  • You do, and don't fool yourself that you don't.

You probably don't click on ads, but they stick in your brain. You might see a half-dozen ads for Doritos, and then when you go to the store a week later, you're slightly more likely to buy Doritos.

The vast majority of advertising is just getting a brand or an idea into the back of your head so when you're looking for something in that product category, regardless of it's a VPN, a web host, a snack food, a car, or whatever, you're going to have a bias towards what you've seen in the past.

Most of my ad-blocking isn't to stop myself from buying some herbal supplement/spray tanner combo, it's to stop myself from being biased by the capitalist propaganda machine.

I am not immune from advertisements, and neither are you.

  • They're here, anything pro trump is often downvoted, and most things heavily critical of the Dems are also often downvoted.

For better or worse, there's not a lot of right wing stuff that makes it into the positive on votes.

If you sort new, you'll see it pop up from time to time.

It's hard to tell sometimes, but it certainly feels like some political regimes are trying out dropping propaganda here or there into the conversation. I'm sure most of it is from genuine users, but there are some comments that just look like they're here to stir up dissent.
