  • 4D batteries just doesn't make sense in 2024. That was for incandescent lights, modern LEDs are brighter and use a small fraction of that power. You could still have the form factor if you really wanted a giant flashlight for self defense or something, but a pair of AA's if you really don't want rechargeables would be more than enough for a long life flashlight.

But any LiIon battery is going to far outperform alkaline batteries.

  • The first time they tried to catch with the chopsticks, it workes without blowing up the whole launchpad.

When they did this with the Falcon 9, it took several flights to get a landing without significant damage to the drone ship, the booster, or both.

Pretty impressive that they got it to work right out of the gate with the Super Heavy Booster

  • And makes turnaround much faster since it's already back on the launch pad.

Though it does make it so a damaged launch pad from either an abnormal launch or landing can stop all launch progress until things are rebuilt. We've seen the very reliable Falcon 9 damage the drone ships with a hard landing.

Would be interesting to see more than the two launch towers created to create more redundancy.

  • The only thing unparalleled about it is that he's doing it out in the open, instead of behind closed doors.

Musk does the exact same shit that every other billionaire does, he just wants everyone to know he's doing it, because he's a big baby just like trump.

  • Any other election, I wait until closer to election day, just in case information comes out that might change my mind.

This one, I'm getting that ballot into a direct election drop box ASAP just in case something screwy happens.

  • This is how we clean up and make this whole line of work less exploitive.

If the workers can push back against poor working conditions, then it can just be a fun entertainment night where everyone is truly just doing what they want to do.

  • I know it's not a popular take, but I really liked The Motion Picture. It was way more Star Trek than most of the other action based movies.

1 and 2 are probably the best Star Trek movies out there. 4 is pretty good too, but I'm not a big fan of time travel in Star Trek (some exceptions, but for the most part time travel stories are pretty weak)
