  • Alternatively, some of the best episodes of TNG were "bottle" episodes to fill space and keep costs down. If 90s trek had shorter seasons would we have had "Measure of a Man" ,"Duet", or "Masks" made?

I know the days of a 24 episode season are long gone due to the increase of production time in modern TV, but maybe we could have 13 to 15 episodes ? Enough for a 10 episode dedicated season arc with a few others just to explore some weird anomalies that make no sense at all.

  • As much as I love to hate ESRI, Arcpy just works and has solid documentation. Sure I could use a strictly geopandas solution but when the customer wants to have the product in a file geodatabase, noting beats the built in export method.

I guess I am stuck in error 999999 land for life.

  • I think we can excuse the fact that apparently everyone and their transporter clone had Pelia as their engineering professor. She's been at the academy for so long, I wouldn't be surprised if she dated Boothby on and off again or at least got him into gardening.

There's a long tradition in star trek where characters talk about one particular professor or class at the Academy and the other character always knows who the professor is.

  • It's pretty simple!

first you find a group of people you want to have run over by a lorry.

Second you print out an interesting puzzle retaltes to their field.

Third you wait until they cross a road and present the puzzle

    Fourth, ???

    Fifth Profit.

  • You still have time to hit up the activity fairs and find people and clubs with common interests!

Failing that, you can apply for internships and star making connections in your field.

  • Quark: I want you to try something for me. Take a sip of this.

    Garak: What is it?

Quark: A human drink. It's called root beer.

    Garak: I don't know.

Quark: Come on. Aren't you just a little bit curious?

    Quark: What do you think?

    Garak: It's vile.

Quark: I know. It's so bubbly and cloying and happy.

    Garak: Just like the Federation.

Quark: But you know what's really frightening? If you drink enough of it, you begin to like it.

    Garak: It's insidious.

    Quark: Just like the Federation.
