  • Many German officials have resisted calls to quit X, saying there was no substitute channel at present that would allow them to reach a broad section of the online public.

That's it right there - this line really emphasizes why Musky came up with the idea to buy the platform in the first place.

  • Let's hope the FCC and whatever other agencies applicable, get teeth and clamp down hard on how these social media giants. the way they operate its damn near treasonous at this point how open they are with allowing other governments to influence their policies. Especially with advertising and to children.

  • I'm so sick of seeing "new driver please be patient" stickers. I get I live in a car state (CA), but honestly those folks worry me the most. We really need stricter laws about driving and better yet more rigorous testing of new drivers. Like your first test should reflect the most grueling driving day you'd experience in the state. should take all day and even do a night time course. We need to be sure these new drivers aren't going to hit anything before they are allowed the "privilege " of sharing our roads. Dead squirrels could just as easily be dead kids.

    And that's my rant.

  • Yeah, you can kind of play chess with a lot of GOP stratagems and it gets increasingly hard to see what moves are left for them. Keep the base stupid enough to win votes - sure, but they're at the point of fanaticism over Trump that without him there is no GOP. No one is going to listen to the Jim Jordans or Matt Gaetz types because they are no one in this new world. So why continue keeping them dumb? They have to see how once you get all the monkeys riled up what will happen. They aren't ruling the new America so why continue this bet? Death threats for not going along with the MAGA message? why do people with comfortable lives want to watch the world burn?

  • That's because the people want more. We don't want the grainy boob grope and crotch stroke video. We want the representative on her knees (where she's her strongest, I hear), taking all 6 hard inches of democrat cock right down her hypocritical throat while vape clouds billow from her nose like some sort of dragon-slut.

  • no that totally makes sense cuz in the past when I changed my picture no one knew it was me even when my handle stayed the same. there was literally know way of knowing who I was so how could I possibly be verified, ya know? so, I get it the UAW, the - largest automotive workers union in the world which, has been currently announcing they'll be striking, forgot they couldn't do that as part of the TOS, I guess. I mean it's not like Muks has full control and does whatever he wants anyway.

  • I've been saying this for awhile now. It's the only reason he made that very public offer at the specific price he put out. He knew he couldn't back out. He knew the line he was crossing so it wasn't a spur of the moment purchase. He got Larry Ellison and a Saudi Investor involved. They didn't all have the same crazy idea. These guys know they're on the hook to the bank for whatever but between the 3 of them they'll cover the losses and this big hub of rumor/news sharing will die. and they can stay mostly unharmed.

  • I just want to add he's used tweets to manipulate stock prices before and it put the SEC on his ass. He's familiar with how making public announcements like that can come across to the law at that point. Even though he wasn't punished he knew where he the line was drawn well before he "impulsively" crossed it. Twitter was a haven for actual journalism and journalists who live by ethics knowing damn well the consequences for libel and slander. The stories they pushed had a massive influence on undoing his image and it keeps going. Same with his Saudi co investor and Larry Ellison. These guys all know what it was really worth.
