  • I agree that Lando broke the rules, don't get me wrong. Max is phenomenal at everything, finding the limit everywhere.

I guess there's no leeway for when a car passes off track so the stewards can't do much. Or maybe the logic is that cars must decide when to give a position up, but never to take a portion.

  • I don't understand the stewards on this one. The attacker has to prepare for a pass this late in the race. It's a fighter in round 5 creating an opportunity to win. You can't cheap shot the attacker and then go "guess you'll have to try again." It makes no sense.

They even tell teams to handle off track incidents themselves before they get involved. Well the defender went off the track because they lost control (aka purposely came off the brake) and couldn't make the corner. The defender destroyed all that preparation by leaving the track, thereby gaining a multiple lap advantage! Clearly the attacking car should keep the place. But now it's up to the stewards to decide apparently.

  • I need to try windows again. I remember it being more complex than Linux. I switched just so things were easier. Cygwin! Registry editing! Getting a Microsoft degree just to edit my desktop menus. I didn't just sit there and install my programs like a good kid and actually wanted to, you know, do things with my computer. And boy did windows hate me for it.

I'm hoping modern IDEs or just having Linux on standby would make Windows simple enough to use.

  • I was replying to someone who said "just goes to show that most innocent people police kill aren't innocent" or whatever. Because it's very useful to point out that people did a bad thing when police execute them on the street.

I'm being sarcastic by the way.

  • Kind of like how most children who are violently beaten by their owners/parents did something wrong. Yes it's illegal, and it's over the top, but it's very useful to point out that beaten children have probably done something bad. It's so useful, it really informs my judgement.

  • If you smoke weed you're more likely to wear converse. It's aesthetics. When someone says they're anti abortion I usually see it as aesthetics. They want others to see them as being anti abortion. That's what they get out of it.

It isn't a literal belief. Democrats reduce abortions, much better than cons. Being anti abortion should mean voting for Democrats... IF you were still taking things literally. It's not misinformation or lack of education, it's misaligned priorities.

They're just trying to be a tribe and signal allegiance. To have literal beliefs that you live by regardless of "your side" is a completely different game to what they're playing.
