  • That's weird -- we water our soil with nutrients like "there's no point in voting", "they're all out to get us", "politicians are shit", "nothing changes", "governments are bad".

I wonder why people haven't been motivated to fight. Whenever they express faith in our leaders, or institutions, or have any positivity, we're quick to shut them down. But still.

  • New games look like realistic pencil drawings that were smudged to shit.

I literally have Elden Ring screenshots on my PS4 that look worse than Super Mario 64 screenshots.

It's like modern games all have a screen shader at the end specifically to fuck up the graphics and blur details. I know it's TAA and friends but damn. It feels weird that so many games have broken graphics that only look good when taking promotional screenshots. And people call them good looking games lol

  • I was thinking more along the lines of "install and play this free unity game while it siphons personal data off your computer and sends it back to epic servers"

They're specifically getting something of value in return for the good or service and then claiming it's free and that customers are not customers, merely "users."

  • Wow they don't even support Linux? I was excited to get f1tv this season for all the onboards and timing. Now I don't have to feel bad about about using streaming sites, except for you know, the experience of using those sites.

  • I wonder. The billionaire owner might have promised Newey he'd be the big boss but this is still planet earth. AM is (so far) a team that makes progress and then drops to the back. The impact of Newey is dampened by only having one good driver. But it's hard to deny Alonso: designers should have bigger impacts than drivers. (Assuming you have competent talent that can stick the car where it belongs.)

  • I think they're like mold or cancer cells, or even a fire. You can't decide to be a billionaire just like a plant species can't decide to grow in crack in the pavement. It's a system of interactions that decides that. Pure chance and a lot of failures that had as much right to succeed as any other.

Billionaires are byproducts of our system weaved into a physical human body. It has a human life to confuse you and camouflage what it really is. It has a human brain and human emotions to generate reasons why it deserves to exist. It looks and feels like a person.

Reminds me of mandrakes from Harry Potter. They scream like they're alive but they're just there to be harvested.

  • Why not couch the article as "a vulnerability was found and patched" instead of "something bad could have happened"?

"STORE COULD HAVE BEEN ROBBED!! A bystander noticed the door wasn't locked, with the owner realizing he hadn't been locking it correctly. There is no evidence anyone broke in."

News in the porcelain village in Oz.
