  • Yep, primaries and special elections are where grassroots grit can have the biggest impact. In my jurisdiction, there was a special election related to home rule. It was a MAGA power grab, no question.

It was defeated with almost 70% saying no to the formation of the Commission that would draft a home rule charter. About 30% of eligible voters in the county turned out, which is really high for a special.

  • It definitely does in my experience. I have intentionally used it for specific tasks for defined periods of time. And then stopped and used only my normal online search tools and a text editor without AI assistance. My projects were written concept development, plus some light coding to create utility scripts.

From just my own experience there is definitely a real cognitive hazard associated with using LLMs at all, for all but the most specialized tasks where an LLM is really warranted.

The scripts worked fine, as they were quite simple python utilities for some data cleaning, so I see a use there. But I found that the concepts never caught fire in my imagination, whereas usually a good share of concepts developed manually turn into something that gets a deeper treatment, even a prototype design at least.

  • Your faith has zero protection from being exposed to opposing ideas. That is fallacious. Have your faith, obey the law and allow me to live my life too. THAT is what the US Constitution allows.

Your god is a moron and it is my right to say that.

  • Those interfaith folks need to do a heck of a lot more to redeem Religion and Faith in the eyes of those who can think clearly. When the majority of the religious (speaking of the US here) are deeply hateful, it calls the vaue of religion into serious question.

  • I began by talking directly back to my demons. We eventually came to an understanding. I have since promoted them to middle management of my other aspects. Together we are really leveraging some synergies across multiple verticals.
