I thought photons are always moving in straight lines from their perspective, and it's space that's bent. Unless it's through a medium, then they just get absorbed and re-emitted, sort of.

I mean, being trans is perfectly valid, but I think gender dysphoria itself should be classified as a mental illness so long as it brings significant pain/distress to the individual, the solution there is just gender reassignment, surgery, hormones, etc. I don't think there should be stigma in calling it such, it needs treatment the same as anything else. People with ADHD have a mental illness and get meds, sometimes therapy, people with poor eyesight have an ocular dysfunction of some kind and get glasses or surgery or whatever, none of it should be that big a deal. The point is it can be diagnosed and treated.

I think the response to shit like "transgenderism" being a mental disease should be "well at least their/our dysphoria can be treated now, what's your excuse?"

Makes sense. Insect lifespans are so short that evolution can be much faster. Primates have been around for 65 million years and only have 431 species, a life form with 1/20th the lifespan at best would have to speciate much faster than that.

Probably UUIDs based on fingerprinting the browser/machine. With enough js there's usually enough to qualify a person's activity as unique even with minor changes regarding updates or whatever. I've never been a fan of this idea, it doesn't go far enough and further makes things less symmetric/divisible. I say we use 6-day weeks, 5 weeks per month, 12 months per year, and an inter-calary holiday week of 5-6 days. A six day week means 4 days working, 2 days rest, and that can be staggered more easily/equitably assuming work needs full coverage in a week. We start the new year on the Spring Equinox because it's generally more pleasant.

For bonus points, we switch to base-12 (or dozenal) in our numbering system because after the transition it's a much easier system to deal with as far as division and multiplication is concerned (e.g. 1/4 would be .3 instead of .25, 1/3 is .4 instead of .333..., 1/2 is .6, etc.).
