  • Some of them are really succesful. Many people care. Others don't.

    Here the current Steam charts. Many indie games, some few with really low specs. Banana only needs 30MB RAM. Seems to be a great game. Hostly now, why are 50k people playing that "game" currently?

    But back on topic: Yes, AAA games are more succesfull and earn much more money, but claiming "no one cares about indie" is stupid, when so many people play games like Rust, Stardew Valley, Prison Architect, Terraria, RimWorld, Valheim, The Forest, ...

  • There is tons of porn on twitter since a long time. They somehow managed to keep it away from "normal" twitter. That is why it worked. That has been eroding for a couple of month now with the "invasion of the porn-bots". If they don't manage to continue to separate the porn-twitter from the non-porn twitter I don't think that will end well for them.

  • For the lazy or unimaginative:

    But may I raise the stakes with the Ulm Minster (the most terrifying church I've ever seen):

  • Oh man, I completely forgot about this. And I liked it that way.

  • You kinda do, though. I've been smoking for 13 years. And I've been smoking quite heavily about, 1.5 pack per day on average.

    I tried to stop several times and it didn't work out. Then one day 10 years ago, I realized how crazily much money I spend on that "hobby" and how I'll need that money for my wedding a year later. And then I just stopped.

    I used nicotine free cigarettes as a crutch for a while, but that was it. It was surprisingly easy, when before I was almost shaking during a 2 hour flight because of nicotine withdrawal...

    What this boils down to imo is, when you really want to stop, you can just stop. Try to find out why you want to stop and don't miss the opportunity window. If I hadn't stopped that day, I'd probably still be smoking.

  • Still better than short cut grass.

  • That every man has to be a breadearner, a handyman and be able to physically defend their home&family.

  • The professor you write your PhD thesis at/with/for. Isn't that a common word in English?

  • I once was in the restroom when my (then) boss (plus later doctor father) came to the toilet and farted as loudly as humanly possible. It was very satisfying. Happy that guy is not my boss anymore, he thought his scientific staff are his personal slaves.

  • Still better than many people in management...

  • Even if she were the shoplifter, how would that work? "Sorry mate, you shoplifted when you were 16, now you can never buy food again."?

  • If I'd work there I'd probably get fired for destroying that.

  • Ah, so it only affects searching from the US for now. I already wondered why I couldn't reproduce the stuff I saw here and why I didn't really see a change at my Google results.

  • They'll regret that.

  • Hmm. Pretty much for everyone else as well... It has become worse that youtube comments over there.

    I am still over there occasionally, because some journalists whose updates I follow are only there. The worst part is that the more right wing trolls I block, the more seem to pop up.

  • He is borderline senile and doesn't live the healthiest lifestyle. He might damage the system beyond repair, but I doubt he'll stay around for much more than one legislature.

    Edit: Before getting angry and comment, do realize I wrote "he might damage the system beyond repair"...

  • The headlines says it all about how serious we have to take his words. The ICC didn't even state "genocide" in the warrant request...

    That doens't mean it isn't one. But the ICC was intelligent enough to only state war crimes we can witness without a doubt. Genocide would have the "intent" part that might complicate things at this stage.

    Here is what the prosecutor stated as reasons for the arrest warrant request for Netanyahu:

    • Starvation of civilians as a method of warfare as a war crime contrary to article 8(2)(b)(xxv) of the Statute;
    • Wilfully causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or health contrary to article 8(2)(a)(iii), or cruel treatment as a war crime contrary to article 8(2)(c)(i);
    • Wilful killing contrary to article 8(2)(a)(i), or Murder as a war crime contrary to article 8(2)(c)(i);
    • Intentionally directing attacks against a civilian population as a war crime contrary to articles 8(2)(b)(i), or 8(2)(e)(i);
    • Extermination and/or murder contrary to articles 7(1)(b) and 7(1)(a), including in the context of deaths caused by starvation, as a crime against humanity;
    • Persecution as a crime against humanity contrary to article 7(1)(h);
    • Other inhumane acts as crimes against humanity contrary to article 7(1)(k).

    But I think if the process will be allowed to continue despite US pressure "genocide" will be added to the list eventually.
